Boxted Airshow this w/e

Anybody else going, apart from FormationChippy/Formationfoto and myself?

Spitfires, Chipmunk formation team, RV4, Harvard, Mustang, Denny Dobson one day, Turbs the next and an old bloke in a Pitts

I can't find any info on Boxted strip itself. How long, alignment etc. Any clues. The web-site doesn't seem to show it.

Sorry chaps, I'm just one of the acts - don't know anything about the management of the event.

Try Peter W (the strawb farmer on the Sainsbury/Tesco advert) on 0773 1949410

I wanted to go and rang the number given and got a PPR Slot and Number but the lad who I spoke to seemed to be from a Work Experience Scheme! I forgot to ask the frequency and thought ..""well I will call again on Saturday morning".

Saturday came, got prepared with passenger (disabled) and constantly rang the two numbers given on the flyer....Answering machines only..(same as last year I am now told).

So re-read the flyer...No frequencies, No runway alignement, No circuit direction, No lat/long, No declared distances...

Cancelled the trip. What a pity.

Don't know which flyer you saw, UV, but the one I got had maps, two working numbers - all you need!

As it happens, I tried knowing the vis was not going to nice all the way. As it happened I got as far as Sheppy and couldn't see more than a few miles - so I turned back and went for a local.

Shame, but best err on the side of caution I think.

The weather was fantastic today and a thoroughly good day out it was with some fantastic displays - not least from Stik, whose lovely red and white Pitts looked fantastic in the late summer sun.

Great day out.

Went on Saturday. Viz was a bit short but followed the A12 there and back so no problem.
The final approach was a bit interesting but nothing a Cub couldn't handle...
Lovely displays - well done all.

Fantastic pictures, I sat there naming them all off and only got 3/4 right! Need to brush up on the old recognition skills... at least I'd make a terrible spotter.

Beautiful Pitts Stik!

And that Ban-Bi..... *drool*
