they have a flying club there, which is handy, but still i think i'll be taking up gliding (cheaper without the engine)

Only two and a half years until I'm celebrating my thirtieth birthday. Or should that be drowning my sorrows?
Ten years ago I thought by now I'd be working behing a desk, maybe own a house, car and be seeing a nice girl, whilst staring with glazed eyes up at the skies loning to be one you aviators.
In reality I am indeed working behind a desk, have my own car, but I don't own my own house yet due to this flying lark! Six hundred hours and a variety of different licences and certificates haven't really left me any spare cash over for the mortgage... oh and no girlfriend either.
I really should get my priorities right one day.
Best wishes,
Charlie Zulu.

I'm 20 so I'm less than a third the age of my trusty steed.
ACW, you don't work in Hounslow do you?
Omcaree, I agree, join the UAS if you can, I would have if they weren't such a bunch of eyesight fascists......

I was considering the UAS, but i used to be in the air cadets and got sick of the RAF side of it.
obviously UAS is more flying based, but still seems a bit too much like the RAF for me.
I'll probably still give it a go, but if anything i'll fail on medical grounds, was surprised enough when i got a class 2 with no problems.
