Started flying regularly at 16. First solo at 16, PPL 17, currently 18 (although 19 tomorrow).

My trusty steed is some 8 years older than me.

Well . let me see.

Old enough to be a Seanmhair,
Young enough to throw a wobbler ,when things don't go right ,

But still enough sense to fly an aeroplane .

THE PINKSTER

I look like Santa .......

1) You believe in Santa Claus.
2) You don't believe in Santa Claus.
3) You are Santa Claus.
4) You look like Santa Claus.

36 with 1 wife, 1 son and, sadly, only limited funds (and time) for flying! Ah, these young people have it easy!

As old as I feel.

Or perhaps as someone else I might manage to feel.....

On the local TV last night there was a piece about an 81-year old pilot about to set off in a replica SE5A to St Omer. Now THAT puts any of us to shame!

And I'm very slightly older than the lovely Pinkster !!

The cracker about the bit on TV re: the 81 year old flying his SE5A from Popham to St Omer was the final shot of his wife, vainly trying to get into their car and realising the old b*gg*r had taken the keys with him. A classic................

I loved his comment about making sure he had the support of She Who Must Be Obeyed as well, I wonder how many of us suffer slight hostility from that direction from time to time?

vainly trying to get into their car and realising the old b*gg*r had taken the keys with him.
Happened to two of my friends at Bristol - as they ascended P2 says to P1 "Have you got the spare set of keys?"
"Yes" says P1, "I left the master set in the ignition in the retrieve".
"Bugger", says P2, "I put them in my pocket to keep them safe...."

Retrieve driver below is going frantic, thinking that she's lost them!

Checklists - don't you just love them?

Well ;

Work that out.

My little piece in Flyer Mag (Sept) gives a few clues.

... and I'm older than Cusco.

I'm two years older than my wife. When she was born, Japan immediately surrendered.

And I've loved every bit of it!

Hey Andyb - I went back to Uni at age 53. Life is for living!
