englishal - very convincing figures.
Went for an hours flight yesterday to see exactly what was needed. After 1.1 hours of general handling, a PFL, turns, etc, 3 circuits and a x-wind landing the instructor reckoned on about 20 hours to finish. Don't appear to have forgotten as much as I thought I had. General handling is still good and can still land it ... even though attempting to 3 point it taildragger style (in a PA38!!) on the first landing.
Put 20 hours into the above equation (even with the increased landing and t&g fees at Shoreham - ouch!) and it just about makes sense to finish here. So most of March is booked in an attempt to beat the weather, with luck will be back to the nav end of next week. Good excuse to do some hours in US though next winter. But, one thing at a time eh?!!
As an aside, what a wonderful feeling of elation to be back up there again. Bumpy but crystal clear......... grin factor is back!!!
Thanks guys for all your suggestions. Will keep you all in touch.

Ah ha....well if its only 20 hrs, you could comfortable do it in 10 days > 2 weeks, saving some dosh...or remain there for 3 weeks, and spend a week using your new found skills, before returning to the crap weather here
