OAA

Its simple, you shuffle up to any one of the many dubious looking types at the airfield and whisper under your breath "do you proone?"

You will either be welcomed into the fold or reported as a pervert.

Its easy when you get the hang of it

from Stapleford
Still trying to get to Stapleford, my trip there having been cancelled by WX several times now. If I see you at Coventry I might ask for some nav advice ...

OrangeArmWaver:

The A45 joins the A46 just East of the airport. At the roundabout take the first exit onto a mini-roundabout. Take the second exit onto Rowley Road, which runs almost parallel to the runway. Follow the road for about 3/4 mile to another mini-roundabout. Turn left & follow the road through Baginton. As you exit the village you'll pass The Oak on your left. Just after that is the main entrance to the airport, also on your left. Stop at security & tell them you're going to the GA Terminal, Anson House. Find somewhere to park, then go and get a free parking ticket for one hour. The GA Terminal entrance is the double set of double automatic doors in the centre of the building. If you go to the right and end up in AWA Flying Group, have a cup of tea before you come through!

It's likely to be fairly obvious who the PPRuNers are. We're loud, probably shouting strange names at strange people, and all wearing big watches. There will probably be several flying jackets, a couple of grow-bags, and possibly a t-shirt reading "Remove before flight".

ALSO:
1) Has anyone told them we're coming?
2) Remember to bring your HV jacket for the apron & some form of photo ID!
[Note to self: Find Coventry security pass... ]

Kolibear - I would, but I'm still trying to think of something suitable to have printed on it.

BTW, if the weather is awful I'll still be going, albeit by car. Anyone else planning on the drive-in option?

I took it as read you would be there. Lowtimer has also said he'll come to a drive-in. So, we have the minimum number required for a bash.

Yes, I only take it off before flight, but it may be several months before.

BTW, are you an orange person who waves your arms, or do you have orange arms which you wave?

Even have matching gloves!!

Although I will not be overall orange on the day...

According to my father I look like either an oompah-loompah or a refugee from Railtrack!!!

Such caring parent(s) I have!!!

Not Penguina and I, though think this may be due to having insulted my IT support guys at work.

BIG mistake, I'm tellin' ya.

Don't think I've insulted any IT persons, but still haven't received PPR either.

I'll be there weather permitting with the Dakota (no, not that sort of Dakota, the Piper one) and non-ppruning co-pilot. Hope I'll be able to recognise other Pprunes.

My passenger will not be able to make it now, so I've got a spare place from Sherburn.

If somebody wants picking up (en-route ish), please let me know ASAP, as I don't fancy doing the trip all on me'tod.

knobbyGB: Do you want to get an ETA for CK's return to the air? If it's not going to be ready, do you want to join up?

Cheers
