How to disable "infinite scroll" and return to old pagination style
NOTE 2: On mobile devices it may not be possible to turn off IS. |
I find scroll handy if you want to print a thread (to say PDF). With scroll off, you have to print each page separately; with scroll on, you just print once and you get a multi-page PDF.

Excellent. Thank you.
Now I just need to be able to click on the "Go To First New Post" icon and have it go to the first new post that I haven't read, which could be a few days ago, and not today's first post. |

I reported this fault in 2016 - https://www.pprune.org/pprune-proble...t-problem.html - but eventually gave up :( |

Can you state the issue, exact steps to reproduce, as well as your system info:
If I leave more than 24 hours between visits, the 'go to first new post' and 'thread with new posts' bolding fails to work properly, as though the memory for these items only goes back a day at most. See screen shots in the previous thread for examples. There are at least two other people who have seen the same issue, and I've changed laptop and used other browsers since first reporting this. |
Thanks! Better experience IMO

I'm a long time member of Pprune but don't visit here much anymore. The new look shocked me and I was glad to get rid of it!!

Infinite scroll isn't working for me. Over the past two days or so I find that I cannot scroll back or forward through a thread once I've opened a page of it. Using Firefox on a Macbook (MacOS 10.14.6). Any ideas?
|
Try clearing your browser cache?
Or try a different browser? |
Tried Safari, that seemed to work. Went back to Firefox and for some reason it worked there as well. No changes in the meantime so no clue as to what happened.

Infinite Scrolling
Sometime in the last couple of days trying to sort the problems I've lost Infinite scrolling and gone back to page by page
Anyone remember where the Scrolling control is? |
|
thanks!

Changed the page number display settings 30, 40, 30, 40 several times, but eventually came back to infinite scroll. It's not perfect, and still tricks me, but it is less frustrating. Momentary freezes at imagined page junctions just occasionally, but usually smooth.
(As long as I click on a person's latest post, and not on latest page, it'll get me into the thread somewhere....) |
Thanks!!
