That's a message usually for those who are banned/prohibited from posting to a forum.
I checked and don't see the "banned" banner for Airbanda in a post on Jet Blast, so ...???

Thanks, I may have sailed near the wind for banning but don't think I've crossed a line. I'd also expect a PM if I was on the naughty step.
I'll message the mods.

That's a misconception. The Mods are within their rights to give posters a 'time out' without warning or explanation. No one has any entitlement to be notified. (That's absolutely not aimed at you BTW - more a general warning to those who feel that they are owed a personal explanation for for their ban).

If I'd sailed too near the wind too often the equivalent of a yellow card would be good practice. Even if it's a red then provided email addys are up to date then a system generated 'goodbye' would mean people knew where they stood.
I think the issue here is that spats on the Bondi thread were seen as disrespectful to the dead and I accept it would have been better to refrain from comment than respond to inflammatory posts from others.
I spent some time moderating a cycling forum where posters who were repeatedly pushing the envelope with language etc got a warning and then a short thread ban. Too many of those and the account was closed. Three strikes and you are out sort of thing

May I suggest a second or third read of posts before pressing send. When something like Bondi, or for instance the Christmas Market attacks occur, there is a perceptible uptick in vitriol and corresponding moderation on Jet Blast. All MODS are volunteers on here, and give up time to do this, with some also having day jobs which require work time, and or travel, especially on an aviation forum, so trying to keep moderation intervention down would help us all please, so to use an old adage, measure twice cut once.
Thank you

I think you also need to consider the workload - the Bondi thread generated an awful lot of posts, many of which were either out of order or not far off. Sometimes there is no time to carefully weigh each thread - the fire has to be quelled
