Swiss to Tokyo, any good?

I am currently considering different options of getting to Narita from LHR and one of the cheapest options turns out to be Swiss via Zurich.

By the time we make this flight, Swiss will have A340s on the route. Does anyone have any views on their economy in flight service? Also what is the standard of IFE likely to be on their A340s?

Or should I bite the bullet and pay extra and fly Virgin direct on one of those A346s?

Try checking what it would cost you to fly from LHR either SAS via Copenhagen or Finnair via Helsinki to Narita. Both have very good schedules for this trip and seem to act as gateways. Helsinki airport is more connection friendly with less walking distance between the gates.

Wishing you a great trip.

Have you had a look at Cathay? Some good prices through HKG at the moment I think.
