Vs A340-600

Can anyone tell me which NY service the new A340-600 is operating. As I'm off to NY at the end of November I would like to experience the aircraft for myself.....

Thanks in advance

Believe its the daily VS009/VS010 between LHR-JFK. But I'm not sure whether VS uses the -600 on all days, or alternates with a 744.

If you have a moment, sit near the back and watch the whole fuselage bend

There are now 2 in the fleet and a third is about to arrive. It is currently operating to Tokyo Narita and the odd NYC service, EWR or JFK. When the third arrives in the next week or two it will be on HKG and NRT with the odd NYC thrown in.

With the ammount of changes made every day to the flying programme to cope with numerous tech delays/AOG's it will be difficult to say which flight the -600 will be on. However if you are lucky enough to fly on it enjoy it! It is a nice aircraft from the pax point of view, and as long as the IFE is working you will enjoy a choiceof over 40 films, to stop and start, rewind, FF, etc (ie Video on demand)

The A340-600 is not the only plane where you can see the fuselage bending in front of you.

I remember in my youth taking a couple of stormy flights where I was sat at the back of 747s - row 56 or so. During heavy turbulence you can see the aircraft undulating as you look up the aisle. There's also an interesting roller-coaster effect as the effects work themselves to the tail. All of which makes for interesting flying!

I was on VS002 from EWR a few weeks ago and unfortunately, I got the 340 vanilla version, not the new improved flavour. Plus, the plane had the shabby Arcadia IFE system, which was disappointing, esp compared to the V.Port offering which was fitted to the 747-400 on the outbound journey.
