No pre-departure drinks LAX
Just returned from LAX in business on Iberia.
Whilst pre-departure Cava was served at MAD on the outbound leg, we were told this was not permitted in the US and were offered water or orange juice.
We found this rather odd !
Any ideas or comment anyone ??

You have to be three nautical miles outside their airspace, up, or sideways, before the drinks become duty-free, in certain states.
The airline doesn't want to pay duty on pre-flight drinks.
Same as they have these huge 1.5 litre bottles of whiskey in duty free, but won't sell them to you unless you're flying to somewhere it's permitted.
