BA cancelled flight
I have an interesting one for those who are regular SLF with BA.
My SIL and family plus another family flew to Orlando on BA from Gatwick, 8 in party. They were due to come back overnight last Thursday but were contacted on the Wednesday to say the service was cancelled for operational reasons and they were told to fly from Miami on American to LHR and then Uber to Gatwick to pickup their cars to drive North. Unfortunately they also had to return their hire cars to Orlando and catch a train back to Miami .
She is wondering what their position re compensation will be, and wondered as I know they used Amex points to cover the costs of flights so points based. They have all their receipts of course.
My own experience with airlines is generally very good, but I am a good customer of the ones I use, they are not, and I am a rare BA customer. Any ideas from the cabin as to possible outcome / suggestions ? My wife already suggested a Subject Access Request to BA if they prove to be a little negative.
Cheers

Thanks for the vote of confidence in BA and I will let you know how they get on. Sorry if it was not made clear in my initial enquiry but I was not in the party I was just asked by my SIL what I thought would be BA take on the matter, as I do a lot of travelling for work and a good deal for pleasure, so quite a bit of experience with airlines, though not BA hence enquiry here.

Just a catch up to say all costs refunded to SIL and families by BA, so a happy ending even if a little trying for them at the time it was occurring. Impress to inflate if it helps Lufty have done it to me twice as well in last 18 months or so. Both were re route and alternative departure time due to connecting flight being cancelled one from Middle East with Oman Air - earlier overnight into Frankfurt rather than Munich and the other similar inbound from Singapore. It seems to be the European short haul Lufty which is the problem for me, not sure re BA.
