As of today, 30th October 2011, no FR flights Girona to/from any UK destination despite Ryanair's contract with Catalan Government still having a couple of months to run. MoL proving a point by cutting his own throat.

Ryanair are too big to mess with; they usually get their own way and crush people who get in their way. If Girona don't want his business he will give it somewhere else. Something to do with non-ratification of a new 5 year agreement I think.

Ryanair have now signed an agreement with the Catalan government to fly "at least" three million passengers through Girona per year for the next five years. (As reported in local media today).

I read,/ or was told that Ryanair are going to reserve the First Three Rows of seats FOR PAX WHO PAY EXTRA. My question is what do people who due to a slight infirmity can only use the first two rows of seats and just tp ne bloosy minded aren't the first two rows of seats uaed by the pilots and cabin staff and the pax start to use the third row back in the A/C ??

I don't know where to start in response, but have you ever flown Ryanair?
Why would they need any seats for c/c or pilots - aren't the 'pilots' meant to be at the front of the aircraft using that 'stick' thingy?

Eeerr, where did you 'hear' this or were 'told' this? Sounds like a Troll to me. Don't forget that FR already reserve any seat you want by dint of you paying for Priority Boarding and getting on first and choosing your seat. 
By the way, if you search the forum, you will find at least half a dozen threads about this carrier in which to post and not take up space with yet another. Particularly with such hot and accurate information ...

Does this mean that the Pilots on Ryanair have to STAND UP all the time whilst using the sticky thing and that the CC are UNSECURED during all TO/LANDINGS
and Yes I have NO OPTION but to travel by this airline as they are the ONLY OPERATOR to my destination

Spit, your posts are so devoid of fact that I don't know if a sensible answer can redeem them.
The flight deck seating and fwd cabin crew jumpseats are not generally counted as the first few rows of seating and no fee will ever enable pax to reserve those seats.
On some routes 1ABC, 2DEF and the overwing rows can be reserved for a fee in advance. I guess any pax that want or need these seats will have to pay for the reservation or take their chances. Don't ask for my opinion on this arrangement, I'm just trying to inject a bit of fact into the thread.

FR has given advance notice of changes to their charges for 2012. Best to read the whole article before passing comment.

Wow Paxboy, no wonder MoL is flying out of GRO again from next year....even though he didn't get the full subsidy from the Catalan Parliament...he doesn't need it.

As always MoL knows what he is doing. He knows his market intimately and has the range of routes - many of them unique - to be able to charge more.
I have no doubt that many will b1tch and moan - and then book up. The younger generations do not know how airline service was 30 years ago and will take this as how it is.
FR provide a fantastic service and will continue to do very well without my custom.

Offer and demand: A new concept to some of you
Just been travelling to my homeland with partner and no luggage.
Total cost for 2 people: £250, of which under £40 for the longest, fastest leg of the journey, in an expensive aircraft.
RyanAir staff is lovely, flights on time, what more do you want?
Remember the 70s when it cost over 10 TIMES MORE because you had a "free" bag in the hold and a "free" drink.
Get real and stop moaning.

So, what do you when you get to your homeland, buy a new wardrobe and toiletries etc. Or pre-position such things there. Travelling with no luggage at all is hardly civilized. Travelling with one bag is hardly an onerous chore for an airline. The aircraft are built with cargo holds. Or perhaps he is going to get Boeing to re-design the B737 with no cargo area so to reduce height of aircraft?

Question regarding Ryanair Prepaid Mastercard
Could somebody who owns a Ryanair Prepaid Mastercard tell me how much the minimum top up is? The website says that the minimum initial load is £150 but it does not stipulate whether this refers to every top up or just the initial load.
I'm trying to work out whether it would be cost effective for me to acquire one. I only fly with Ryanair when they have their special cheap fares (I like to think that they pay me to fly with them!). If I have to keep loading £150 at regular intervals in order to avoid their no useage fees then it's probably not worth my time...
