Technical delay? "Is anyone on board an engineer?"

Whilst not worthy of Rumours and News, it's certainly something I've never heard before

BBC NEWS | UK | Scotland | Glasgow, Lanarkshire and West | Passenger fixes faulty airliner

Just a pity there wasn't a bit more detail in the story

Did he have his own spanners too?

Plane broken down? That's OK, SLF will fix it!

A passenger fixed a fault on a holiday jet, saving other passengers from an 8 hour delay.

Great story, especially this top bit of reporting:

"Chris Browne, managing director of Thomson Airways, said he was "delighted"....."

May I kindly advise the BBC that Chris Browne is in fact a woman!!!!

Nothing like a good bit of journalism to start the day.

As every engineer knows:

One only needs two tools in life: WD-40 to make things go and duct tape to make them stop. - G. Weilacher
