European Airlines

Are all European airlines regulated to the same standard? Do they all go through the same processes of testing the crew, inspecting the aircraft, setting maximum flying times etc? As a passenger, can I assume that all airlines based within the EU are safe to fly?

The reason I ask is that I found an article stating that the Spanish pilots union SEPLA had made claims a year ago that Clickair was `unsafe`
http://www.uk-airport-news.info/heat...ws-080607b.htm.

Isn`t there a regulatory body that would make Clickair address these issues?

I apologise if these seem like daft questions. I am a very nervous passenger and am due to fly with Clickair very soon. I need to know that I will be as safe on Clickair as I would on any other European or Spanish airline.

Suggest you have a look at the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Joint Aviation Regualtions (JAR) websites.
