Question Aerosvit Airline

On the 16th of August I have a trip scheduled with Aerosvit. I was wondering if anybody flew with this airline and has and good tips. Doing a research online I wound that a lot of people ran in to problems. For now this is what I stumbled on:
1. When you book a ticket, you better pay for ASAP. For some reason, it looks like the booking does not mean anything to the airline. Had a ticket booked and was given the dead line to pay for it. I was really surprised to find out that a week after my initial booking and a week before the dead-line, somebody took my booking and I had to rebook for the new dates.
2. Even if you pay for your tickets, they do not give you seat numbers. You get your seat when you are checking in. (very confusing)
3. You can’t check-in online…

Any other cons would be highly appreciated…

Hmm them you've listed don't sound that bad...

1) If you pay online you need to pay the full ammount anyway. If you pay with a travel agents then you can pay weekly or whatever

2) Quite odd. This happens with alot of airlines, it's not unusual.

3) You have to remember that the Ukraine isn't as advanced as the US and may not offer this feature...

Just my opinion.

Just to explain to those not familiar with the carrier, Aerosvit is one of the two main Ukrainian airlines, the other is Ukraine International. Aerosvit concentrate on transatlantic flights and those to the old Soviet Union and Asia, whereas Ukraine International concentrate on Western Europe, though each invades the other's territory to a limited extent. Both are headquartered in Kiev and use Boeing aircraft nowadays, not the old Soviet fleet.

1. This is true of the majority of the world's airlines. It's been quite some years since I booked a plane flight (including US carriers) and didn't have to pay for it at the initial time.

2. This is true of the majority of the world's airlines. I know some US carriers do seat allocation with reservations, but still some do not. Even British Airways for example do not do it for the majority. On the other hand most of the world's airlines do not have the level of Denied Boarding the US majors regularly get up to.

3. This is again true of the majority of the world's airlines.

I get the feeling you haven't done a lot of travelling. Hmmm, Ukraine is going to be an experience .........
