Passport / visa for the USA
A relative of mine is due to go to the USA for a holiday next year, and as he is a British subject (not a British citizen), he has a U.S visa in his passport.
When entering the U.S under the Visa waiver program, passports must be valid for 90 days from date of arrival, but does anyone know how long a passport must be valid for when you go there with a visa. ( the passport expires in March, but the visa is valid for approx 1 more year).
I've looked at loads of websites (inc the US gov one), and can't find anything that refers to this, so any help would be gratefully received.

Hope this helps...

Note
(a) The Embassy no longer issues visas valid indefinitely. Any new B-1/B-2 visa issued will be valid for a maximum of 10 years.
(b) A visa does not expire with the expiry of the holder’s passport. An unexpired, endorsed visa in an expired passport may be presented for entry into the USA, as long as the visa itself has not been cancelled, is undamaged, is less than 10 years old and is presented with a valid non-expired passport, provided that both passports are for the same nationality.

Please keep in mind that your passport must be valid for at least six months from the start date of your trip to the USA. The visa can be used until its expiration date and merely represents the time during which you may apply for admission to the United States.

• a passport valid for at least the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States (for German citizens; for certain other nationalities, the passport must be valid 6 months beyond the departure date);
