Some nice shots there 7700. I was tracking Barwon Heads to Ballarat about a week and a half ago and beating into a 40kt headwind (that's a lot whilst trundling along in the 172) so was only at 4,500' and wondered what the new strip was. Lethbridge of course.

It looks a great facility and I nearly dropped in to have a look and refuel, but I was already primed to stop at YBLT. I'll be out and about on the weekend and it looks as though we're in for some nice weather, so maybe on Sunday.

Took the 210 for a run.....

.....but ran into some nasty weather immediately to the east of the above the field (Where? Should be an easy one).....

.....so figured it might be a good time to land, assess the weather (t'was vile) and put plan 'B' into action. Hope the weeds got a good soaking.

Actually GB, YBLT was my destination yesterday. Damn that place is busy. There's about 20+ Cessna's lined up there for the school.

When there's 20+ Cessnas lined up it's a quiet day :)

When there's 3 or 4 Cessnas lined up and the rest are out flying it's busy! The worst is in winter when they all return in the hour before sunset, and most decide to fit in a couple of circuits before finishing. It's like a scene from The Battle of Britain!

This one? :)

I arrived before start time so they were all on the ground. When the flying school buys the local motel to house them, you know things are going well.

This one?
No, that one reminds me of Pprune!

Seems the little beasties have been breeding on the quiet, up at YJCW. The first 4 seat version of the TAF Sling took to the air on Australia Day.

Heading off to Seletar for refurb soon! It was parked up near the old ITB in Brisbane not long ago. :ok:

Do they ever fly them anymore? I have not noticed them move in ages, but perhaps they come and go and they are always in the same spot when I see them. Mind you that is not where they say for ages up near 14/32.

gerry111 2nd Feb 2015 13:23

I think Clive's found newer VP registered toys..

PyroTek 3rd Feb 2015 00:29

Jaba: They have not flown in a couple of years. This one has been getting maintenance and been doing engine runs so I suppose it will take to the sky again in the near future.

I took this photo back in December: This where they used to live - the blocked off taxiway off 14/32. Now only one is there.

"Pythons" Team

OK, presented as some light relief after the photos of the buffoon's MD-80's.

An article on the Caboolture-based Pythons Team has just appeared in the Feb/Mar issue of Australian Pilot. The shots were taken by Mark Smith, the editor, during a photo shoot late last year.

Ahh.......de Havilland, what a beautiful photograph of truly beautiful aeroplanes.
Why is it today, designers seem incapable of designing anything with aesthetic lines. Saw a DA42 Twin Star recently, it looked like a Beech 1900 after an epileptic fit. Then we have Jabiru's and other monstrosities. As a kid I remember Comets, Caravel's, Hornets and Hunters, aeroplanes of pure art.
What is going on, have we lost something?

Thanks Dora-9 for keeping art-form in the air.
