J3, only when the plane won't 'play ball' in trying to get it back to the beach. The caravan is a whole load more difficult paddling than the beaver!

I can imagine 2+ tons of machine with that paddle would be a workout :-)

Some would describe this aircraft as sex on an undercarriage...
