Hey guys,

Here is an interesting one, I applied as well for the Rex cadetship they rejected my application and just last week I received an email saying they would like to give me another opportunity to be considered, providing I submit documents supporting that I'm an Australian resident and my High school marks. Has anyone experienced this before?

Rex Cadet Wombat test & physics test

Has anyone gone through year 12 in house physics test for the cadetship?

I got an email from Rex Recruitment team saying they are giving me another opportunity to go through the assessments with wombat and physics test.

Because I only have a month left to prepare for that, wanted to have some example questions to be prepared more effectively. I did all my education in South Korea and am desperate to have those example questions.

Please, reply or email me if you have any experience or information.

Thanks

Yohan

Is there much chance of getting in to the program without any flying / aviation experience? or do most successful cadets already have some hours and a Bachelor of Aviation (or something similar) ?

I didn't have the means to learn to fly when I left school so I went to uni and got an office job, however now I am ready to start learning!

Cheers.

Happened to me as well. I went down for my WOMBAT and now I'm just waiting for a date to go attend the interview in Wagga.

If they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel and needing to re-consider candidates who they already rejected, why not just open up more slots for direct entry (or even an advanced level cadetship)?

Yes: You are the beneficiary of a demographic shortage of trained and qualified pilots.

As is the case in Europe, US and now increasingly Australia, a structural shortage is evident.

The question of course, is what are they prepared to do about it?

REX loses last appeal in Cadet “Motivation Letter” case

Finally after years of dodging and weaving, not to mention thousands of dollars in Shareholders money, the Australian High Court has denied REX’s last avenue of appeal in blocking the AFAP’s right to represent it’s members without a specific individual stepping up.

Given the well know management style of this organisation, this final clarification of what has always been seen as a right, will now pave the way for a proper determination of the allegations brought forward by the Union on behalf of all REX pilots.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Interesting read about Republic, Rated De.

If they go into Chapter 11, the first thing they’ll try to do is cut wages and cancel pensions.

Er...., yup!

High Court Ruling

The ruling on REX's appeal not only paves the way for the substantive case to proceed, it also creates a strong precedent for the whole of the industrial landscape. That High Court decision affects all workers of every industry.

Well done AFAP. It is a demonstration to the extent REX needs to be dragged (kicking and screaming) to the table of fairness.

Bort.

Well said Bort.

If REX had been successful in their appeals, they would have become the poster child for every bullying, intimidatory, and dysfunctional management across Australia.

Employees across the country owe The AFAP an enormous debt.

Can any one tell me if you didn't finish year 12 but have gone back and done or the correct bridging courses advanced maths, physics and English is this enough to get a look in for the Cadetship.

Hi there

I am invited for a phone interview in a couple of days. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on what to expect?

Thanks

Hi Patrick, I am invited to attend an interview at Wagga after passing the phone interview. I was wondering if you are about to undergo the same thing aswell or have already passed it? I believe it includes a sim test too.

It’ll go a little something like this.

COO: you’re lucky to have made it this far. (Insert empty promises, quick command etc)

You: (promises in return for quick command)

COO: we promise to give you (insert base of choice)

First day of ground school : you have been awarded (base opposite side of country to your preference)

All the best !

Thanks for this. Was the outcome of your WGA interview given on the same day? If not, how long did it take for you to be notified for the final process?

Thanks!

At the end of the interview, upon the usual “are there any questions you would like to ask?”...

Always have a question ready.

I’d probably ask if I’d be required to sign a cadet motivation letter.
