Wally,

Will you be moving to the new Taj Mahal? I'll be there with the new 412EP, just for something to do ;)

PPRuNeUser0161 5th Jan 2009 10:34

Thanks Wally
Sounds great, what are the shifts times like?

Howie

We have looked very very hard in the last few years at a Turbine option for the -10, however nothing really works and the numbers do not work. Innodyn make one but its not really well proven and the fuel burn below 10,000 is not real flash (no surprises there) so good old Lycosaurus IO540 it is!

No worries Jamair.........must be a story here.....:E

J:ok:

Wally Mk2 7th Jan 2009 08:59

'jaba' even though a turbine would be great in yr 'home made toy plane' the cost would be over the top, unless yr wealthy like the Dr:8:E
The cost of a set of turbine wheels that got cooked for EG. would allow you to have a few Lyc's or Conty's just sitting there brand new on the shelf:-)

'SN' shift times are pretty cruzy, shortest is 6 hrs duration & the longest (night shift) is 9 hrs, but you need 9 hrs on night shift anyway, anything less is not enough sleep:E

'JE' the 'Taj' is but less than a couple of weeks away before we get lost in it. Now I know why there is an Oz wide shortage of corry iron, that's place is amazing! I first thought that there was going to be 15 beds in one big bedroom for all the crew but aparently some snore so it's 15 bedrooms instead:E. I wouldn't leave yr chopper there too much, will get in the way of our R/C choppers, the room at the chopper end of the complexe is huge, perfect for R/C flight, doors closed of course 'cause you can't fly R/C within 4 k's of a licenced AD:ok: John I don't suppose you handle that Seneca 3 anymore of a well know identity? well his bro was more so:)

Wally,

The S'neca went a few years back: there's no future in running up and down runways to get airborne :p

I'll be at the Taj as well; I'm off to FS for the 412 refamil this Saturday, joining the gang at EN as I'm getting bored at home. There are only so many motorbike rides you can take, I need to get back flying :ok: One of those bedrooms is mine.......

ps I think the really large room you refer to is slated to be the Sim office: not that anyone's Empire Building, of course!

Gees it's hard enough to get you blokes out flying as it is, you won't wanna move at all when you're tucked up nicely in bed!;)

Wally Mk2 8th Jan 2009 06:30

'HH' why do you think I never chased the 'bus' jobs? too much like hard work at those slave labour camps:ok:
Don't forget not to land long anymore on rwy 26 @ EN after the 20th this month otherwise you shall add morecarbon to the atmophere by taxying a long way up to the new 'holiday camp':)

Wally

The Dog

Howard Hughes 9th Jan 2009 01:33

Not to self: Directions to Camp Wally, 3-5 for arrivals, 1-7 for departures...:ok:

What makes you think it was a he Mr Dog?;)

Wally Mk2 9th Jan 2009 09:13

'dog' we at times have cause to fly into SY/BK at times if the patient is being returned to their home town/state say after an accident in our state (Vic)for Eg. There's a lot of politics between the states as far as who ought to be transporting who. Also at times we are left with no alterantive but to fly interstate to find a bed for a patient of the local hossies are full up.
We even fly to Cairns & the likes from EN but it's not that common.
I once went to Brissy to retrieve a Victorian man whom crashed his car whilst towing a caravan on holidays, para for the rest of his life. Being a Vic resident we where tasked to bring him back.
& yr right KFC describes our planes perfectly!:)
The B200 is not really that suitd to trips that far (as in Cairns) but we can't afford a jet for every now & then

Reverseflowkeroburna 9th Jan 2009 23:54

Aw come on Wally, thems bread n butter distances for B200's in some parts of the country. Those 15 beds must be way too comfy! ;)

Howard Hughes 10th Jan 2009 00:10

Perhaps Wally's bladder won't last more than 45 mins!;)

morno 10th Jan 2009 00:29

Prostate problems Wal? Maybe you might need a catheter, :E

Either that, or you need to make use of the Pisssaphone....

bushy 10th Jan 2009 02:23

PPissaphone?

Careful with that pissaphone. In a pressurised aeroplane it sucks. And the outlet is not de-iced.
But I guess that is not important, as Victoria is only about as big as a decent cattle station.

the wizard of auz 10th Jan 2009 04:01

Victoria is only about as big as a decent cattle station.
Bwaaahahaha. :ok: Looks to be about a good four day muster if we get an early start and the stock move well. :E

Stationair8 10th Jan 2009 07:37

Whats the goss Wally, I saw a joint tender advert in yesterdays Australian from Victoria and NSW Air Ambulance? What a bit of state co-operation or a fishing exercise?

By the way Wally slip down to BBC Hardware and grab a few cans of paint that new hangar looks like its made out of leftovers all that different colour's, bit of an eyesore tracking for 34 at the big airport!!!

When the new place open?
