What goes around comes around in TG

Finally it has come back around to bite Tauranga Aerosexual Club in the butt.

The club which is always the first to ring the news/media when there is an incident or crash on the airfield has got it.

This is a very brief extract from one news today @ 15:00

ALLEGED PILOT LICENCE SCAM BUSTED

A New Zealnd citizen has been charged with impersonation after he alledgedly sat a pilot licence exam for Saudi Arabian nationals.

The police arrested a 27-year-old man from Otara immediatly after he completed an examination at the Tauranga Aero Club on Tuesday night.

(For the Full article see nzoom.co.nz)

It basically goes on to say that he sat PPL exams on other persons behalf at the club. What happend to the days when you have to provide proof of I.D. before an exam what are they up to, or did they know

Any thoughts from you all

How's this for a thought Mr. WE knowya_handle.
Now that you have finally got to where you desire, by selling out others, back-stabbing, and doing your little bit to help the NZ aviation industry degrade into the shambolic and pitiful excuse for a career that it is purporting to be, do you think that you may refrain from spreading your little bit of nastiness on these forums.
Have been watching you for a while, and there is an all too common air of high and mightiness that is more befitting to Judge Judy - unfortunately for the industry, you are not the only one with this attitude vs (lack of)experience level.
Remember the old saying "Those living in glasshouses..........".

The effect is rather similar to "Flying in the LEE of the NZ ranges in a howling westerly!!!"

How do you think your new found bosom buddies at Eagle will react to having a not-so-stealthy Jonah in their midst!
Do everyone a favour - concentrate on developing your ever so lacking life-skills, stop delighting yourself in others' misfortunes, join the union, and be nice to your mother!
ps - still watching!

OK YOU TOO, BREAK IT UP!!!!! Was told there was a bitter and twisted aviation society in Tauranga.

In all honesty, Not to blame anyone else, but I will. It has come from those "roll models" i.e bosses ongoing cat fight between the two clubs. One CFI too sh*t scared to get his feet wet in the REAL world of aviation. (Were's my blankie mummy? Are you young enough to be my girlfriend?) while the other one has an infatuation with an certain "aerosexual" instructor.

Silly things like this happen all the time. Time to grow up guys

People should really do some research before pointing fingers on a RUMOUR website.

This article is simply that an article from the national news network (if you look carefully you will also see another article exactly the same in this forum) not by this handle.

PPRUNE is a place to talk about rumours ect, the first line is a joke and the rest just plan facts. If you pay attention you will see an add on to this article in weeks to come stating the outcome of the case.

So iinnzsky don't get all upset over a very harmless article and check you sources prior to posting thoughts about who you think somebody is.

How did they get around it? ASL have been requiring photo ID in AKL for the last couple of years to sit the exams and I think it even says on that page you get with exam venue etc that photo Id IS required - Or was it a case of the examiner not picking up the irreqularity?

Well no-handle, you really know your stuff don't you??
The fact that the exams were being sat at the aero club, has nothing to do with them, that's just where people sit them. ASL run the exams, not the aero club. Get over yourself. As someone who has lived on the airport for many years, and has flown with the Aeroclub, Bayflight, the Gliding club, and a few microlight guys over the last 12 years, I find your comments very very childish.
Yes there are differences between the aeroclub and bayflight, but both are to blame. I remember when the aeroclub opened up their bar facilities to Bayflight, and then had to remove them later because female patrons at the Aeroclub were being abused, glasses were being smashed, and they basically treated the place like ****e. Not very professional for a 7 year old let alone a budding pilot.
I manage to get on with everyone on the airport, it is a shame more of you couldn't make the effort.

Edit: subject was ARRESTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER SITTING EXAMINATION. Sounds like a sting operation to me. Did you ever stop to think that the Aeroclub was co-operating with the authorities???

This article, like I said is just that an article, nothing to harm your aeroclub.

The fact of the matter is most of the members, flight instructors and students of the aerclub are good people.

So how about you all stop getting your backs up over an article which has been posted on a rumour website and actually put in some constructive comments and thoughts on the subject like I asked for.

Griffo, I read it in the herald yesterday and it looked like a set up to me, in that the club alerted the authorities and acted appropriately. I didn't bother posting about it because I thought it wasn't much interest to anyone (unless you are paranoid re. terrorism!)

Finally MM, somebody read the post correctly and actually made a comment on that and not the fact that the guy who posted it made a comment which has been taken the wrong way.

Yeh the guy was from AA and will appear in TG court some time this month on a few nasty little charges. Should be interesting to see if the school kids in the bee hive get their teeth into it.

Hahaaahahahaaahahahaha

Good to see that the ongoing bitch fight between TAC and BOPFC is still in full effect

You go girl!!

Now seriously, I didn't see the full article, but has there been any media follow up to the fact that it was a SAUDI national behind all this?

I would imagine it's pretty damn difficult for an Arab to get flying training in America these days, but still ... in the light of you-know-what, any dodgy dealings involving unidentified Saudi persons trying to scam themselves flying licences, gives me the creeps to be honest
