Could you please help me Mr Hat, as I said I will do anything to re-enter the industry.
I,m not interested in hearing sexist comments either.
It's okay for males to use the term networking, why should I be castigated for trying to get a leg up.
Thanks in advance, Geisha girl

The only help I can offer is advice on what got me jobs.
Yes I have got people jobs in the past but they were as James said "in the right place at the right time" (I just told them to be there at that time).
The best way to go is send out you CV's and make sure you have the recruiters name on it. Follow it up with a phone call and once you think there is a chance in a particular area go visit.
Have myself got jobs thru networking/mates and also in companies where I knew noone. So it can be done.
You have to look professional. Its hard to explain but a lot of 200hr pilots obviously have never worn and ironed shirt and pants in their life (apart from the formal). And you can see it.
Be professional - your "girly charm" is great but thats best left to scoring guys (or girls) at nightclubs and so on. For a job you will want to get the job for the right reasons. If you don't you will find that when people don't/do get what they want they will not respect you anymore and you will be on the outer in the company.
On top of that if you've cut in over the top of the next bloke on you will make some serious enemies for life and fast. Not good. Best to just wait your turn.
If things didn't work out at NAC just move on. I went there to hand in a Resume a few times and it never worked so I just went and got a job elsewhere - never thought about it again and in hindsight worked a treat for me. Don't get fixated.
Good luck.
Mr. Hat.

Hey JT, bringing back lots of memories for me man!
Ask your namesake sometime about his bout with "Mr Mundine" - great for a laugh.
And I have a new "kimberley cocktail" for you to try, if you haven't already. Fondly called "Oombi Mix" by the locals, it combines your two favourite drinks - Take one (preferably warm) redcan, take a good swallow, then top up with lady in the boat. Add a dash of Passiona according to personal taste...mmm caution: may lead to yelling slurred profanities, taking off your shirt and getting a "talking to" from your husband , and then later when he's passed out in the dirt, slipping a kitchen knife into his guts.
Ahhh, the memories....

Sorry everyone for my less than tasteful comments about High Altitude. This was all in the past when I thought I could just walk into a job. I'm a little smarter these days. Thanks everyone for the valuable advice anyway.
By the way, I've just had a positive reply from Virgin Blue and everything is rosy again. I will take a short holiday on the Gold Coast and start with the Blue in the next month.
With kind regards,
Geisha Girl

doesn't it sound strange that only yesterday afternoon "Geisha Girl" said she would do ANYTHING to get back INTO aviation and all of a sudden today she has a job with Virgin Blue

Hey Speedjet, just remember I'm about to enter Virgin Blue, it didn't happen overnight but it did happen.
Bye the way Speedjet, if I can work my way up the management tree you will be the exact type of person I will keep out of the organisation.
Just remember that next time when you make sexist comments.
All the best

Geisha Girl.
wasn't meant to be sexist comment, just merely stating that in one instant you are slaaging a GA company and would like to get back into aviation, the next minute you have a Virgin job. How do you manage to do that.
PS. not really interested in whether or not you get into management at VB as I already work for the red rat

No wind up Sheep Guts and that's all I'll say on that subject,
Bye the way I hope you have success in the future.
I may have made negative comments about certain people in the past but I wasn't the only one. Certain people are there own worst enemies.

Geish Girl,
Very Interesting !!!!!!!!!
Unless you already have a 737 endorsement, I doubt very much that you would get the nod on the 9th of August for a September start.
If you don't have a 737 ticket, how are you going to have a Gold Coast holiday, then complete a month long endorsement in time for a September start?
I am very curious.....................

Well I'm sitting here on Monday morning reading these negative comments pitched at my gender.
How interesting when I am of the same gender.
Just a thought

My main comment revolves around the fact that you are talking so much CR@P that it is obvious you have not been accepted by Virgin Blue, and I doubt very much from your attitude that you will ever get out of G.A. (If in fact you even are a Commercial Pilot)
