Well Stealth if you think i'm a d*ckhead from that wait until you see my antics in the mext 9 episodes... (they get worse).

You must be a very short sighted individual however you ARE entitled to your opinion as is everyone else. Mmm you must have watched it then...

I take my hat off to the guys who came up with not only the concept but the initiative to get a 10 part series of the ground with VERY little $ input.

I rather expected a tounge lashing from someone, the fact that it comes from someone in the industry makes it a bit of a joke really. The general response to the show has been very positive, then again the proof will be in the ratings.

I hope it works as not only is it fun it is great exposure, even when not in a dress.

NOW TO THE ORIGINAL TOPIC.

NO NO NO I'm no where near Eastlands.

As you all know VA with Air Ngukurr take on Maningrida shortly... Will be interesting to see what Air North do.

AA have settled and seem to be running well.

Heard a rumour that ANgu may have to pay back a rather substantial amount of money to the community.

Air Front seem to be scaling down in Darwin.

Thats it.... otherwise I will be acused of seeing what others are doing to much...

"But really what do you care???"

Everybody bags HA, his entrepeneurial flair and his appalling dress sense. But you've got to hand it to him, he's still there after all these years and still employing people. Just the response to this thread indicates thet while some don't like him you just can't ignore him. I reckon good on ya. You've done well!
As for the passing of the legendary Browns, I am absolutely shattered. They were chosen to hide the stains from frightened tyro pilots trying to prevent hopelessly performing 207s from plowing into the escarpment. I just hope they've gone camo or khaki, not poofter navy like flying instructors or skygods.
Best of luck to all in the Dry, build those hours and stay out of trouble.

HA

You can't honestly be serious about your anonymity when elsewhere on the forum you're not exactly backwards in coming forwards with your real identity.

Hey Baron what exactly do you admire about HA?
Is is because he can bull$#!%, lie, decieve his way through anything? Wearing thin with people.
Is it because he tries to undercut other companies on the airport. Cant be trusted.
Is it because he treats his staff unfairly, especially the staff who have been loyal and committed to his company for years only to see there rightful positions taken by over the top pilots and other people who are just really good at sucking up. How shallow.
HA is the king of his domain and thats as far as it goes.
Geez HA you havent had so much negative attention since you had your school bag thrown on the roof at high school and was beaten up everyday.

Caught the last 5 minutes of the 2nd top end boys. All I could see was fat red faced porky pig impressionist scoffing food.
From what I have seen and heard from others, very amatuerish, a waste of time.

No doubt that there will be a response to this post by HA. Cant resist
Just remember though, every time you open your mouth you have this wonderful ability to continually confirm what we all think.

anyway, back to the main topic- being goss about darwin,

i hear things are pretty slow on the field, these are the latest rumours doing the rounds-

1.NAC casual pilots are lucky if they actually do any flying at all , a source from within tells me that most struggle to get 5 hours a week, if any hours at all

2. A couple of Wimray/Air Ngukkur casuals haven't had any flying for the past fortnight, and these are high-time twin drivers.

3.Vincent Aviation's first foray into the RPT scene was a flop, 2 pax on the outbound service to Maningrida and empty on the return sector, despite being around $70 cheaper than the airnorth full economy fare, I thought they had the SUPPORT of the Maningrida people!!

4.Air Frontier still struggling to do business anywhere (nothing changed here) and Anindilyakwa well we all know about them.

Well if Vincent go ahead. I know from local experience that the people at Mannigrida, have had enough of Air North and their delayed baggage problems. Its allways been a problem there. The 1900 prolly run into the same problem. Unless they got a D model maybe different. They should also swing by Oenpelli during the wet. On the way back. Theyd pick up something there, if it was approved and promoted in that community. When the East Alligator comes up it stays up for around 3-4 months some years. Lots of People want to go Shopping town around XMAS.

Ofcourse, Im not sure if Vincent, can bare to see their nicely kept 1900, turn into a CessPit like AirNorths dirty pencils.

Even the Bandit under Execs and Arhnems, had problems with bags.

Where I am now we have problems, thats because Yanks take everything bar the kitchen sink to go to an All Inclusive Resort.

anyway my 2 cents worth good luck all concerned.

P.S. Dont be perterbed by Air North Supporters, and their Frequent Flyer programm. B*****d if I could stay on a pencil, that long to get points. The few that you'd earn.

Smile Don't worry.. be happy...

People..people...people !!!

What's with all the bickering and slagging of each other ?! Hasn't ANYONE learnt YET that trying to outdo one another, though a popular (for some silly reason) past-time for many individuals, will not EVER improve the future of this ever so delicate industry of ours ?

Before continuing with the main purpose of my reply here, I wish to digress by adding a few comments. Firstly, I have had the pleasure of meeting High Altitude in Darwin a number of years back, though never had the chance to associate with him very often as I was obviously employed by different operators during my 2 yrs in Darwin.

Taking the scene back a little.... typical 35 deg C, approx 85-90% humidity day, Airnorth claimed to take on the Airport in the annual cricket match, the 'Airport Ashes'. Through this event, and though having to participate as a member of the Airport Team after recently ending employment with Airnorth (I'm sure the Airnorth Boys remember me - always keen for a wild time but moreso, who clean-bowled 3 of you guys in my first over ? Who was one of the opening bowlers in the Airnorth Indoor Cricket team ? ), I had the opportunity to play for a team dressed in the most hilarious outfits and accompanying names.... High Altitude and the other fellas put lots of time and effort into organising such a fun, morale boosting event. As I can recall, the Airport side was doing some serious cleaning up, but somewhere in the piece, the Umpires, c/o CASA decided to 'play with the book figures'....resulting in Airnorth winning the match...

No really - twas a terrific day's proceedings. Airnorth played an excellent innings and a fabulous time was had by all. This is but only one mere example of the fantastic times had by everyone who was keen enough to 'get involved' with events in Darwin. Though I no longer reside in Australia, my 5.5 yrs in the Northern Territory have by far been the best days of my life yet. I had an opportunity presented to me to be associated with some of the finest ladies and gentlemen an industry can be proud to boast of. So, on this note, let's not change the basic fundamentals of who we really are deep down ; let's not allow everyday business dealings and normal strategies get in the way of otherwise funfilled moments with lifetime friends and industry colleagues.

A little humble mention on my behalf ~ Like many of us, I had to work extremely hard to get my break in aviation, not due to the fact that I was a slow learner, a below-average pilot or a softcore enthusiast of a 'drink or two' after a long day's work. Those who know me well will know the above mentioned is an exact opposite of me, though I still wish to remain humble of my achievements, as I am 'always learning and have far yet to go ... '. The experiences we all have are a true testimony of how special our jobs are. With these, we build further our bank of aeronautical skill and knowledge - the necessities for not only assisting with progression through our careers but most importantly to keep us ALIVE each time we leap into the heavenly skies. Many people seem to forget this and become associated with minor, less important things, such as slagging someone off for putting more effort in (than perceived required), etc etc.

Where am I getting at with all the above ? Simple - never lose sight of the BIG PICTURE. We are all VERY lucky to be members of an industry we are so passionate about. Let's remain professional about who/what we are and put all 'bad' things behind us. DARWIN IS A GREAT PLACE where many dreams are made of - my past experiences and friendships with great aviation folk has been what's assisted in further enhancing my motivation towards achieving my dream.

High Altitude, you may not remember who I am, even though it's often easier associating me with the fact I have a twin brother in the same industry, though I do not know you in depth, you are a hardworking bloke who has done well and continues to do so.

Folks, keep the Darwin good times alive and kicking. Best of luck and Kind Regards to you all. May all your dreams eventuate as they have for many of us come-and-gone Darwinites of the past who miss your land so dearly.

Hottie,

Thank you for the kind words. I'm thinken I know who you r... pm me. Also great advice but lets take a looks see at reality... For some reason all people want to do is have a go at each other. Personally over the years I have had things stolen, vandalised etc and what for really??? You no what its now nearly been 8 years???

Your para :- BEST DESCRIPTION I HAVE READ.

On the note of that fabulous cricket day... Credit where credit is due. The Big Fella put together the airport side, alcohol put together the names and I think alcohol put together the day. Must say the look on the scarenorth faces when the NAC ute with 12 Blackened Pakistanis/Sri Lankans/Indians in the back was... PRICELESS... I have photies here somewhere. Then there was Canos very small streak... The scooter... oh dear what a day.

Its funny the Darwin days have gradually declined since the days of the Tute... Friday nights engineers, pilots, res staff, hosties, everyone all getting p*ssed very cheaply, running amok and putting everything behind for a good time. Now them dere dose were the days...

I know from experience that Air north do not handle competition well at all.

If vincent are able to operate on time and be courteous to their customers they can charge at least the same as Air North and it won't take too long and they will gain the largest share of the market.

Hey High Altitude

Are you the dude involved in flogging off two clapped out barons to some poor bloke in Perth and then leasing them back ? If you are then word is you needed the money pretty bad to pay off some owings, but can't do without the clapped out barons to continue the circus!

Who ever it is I guess its lucky for the Perth bloke that he's an LAME, he'll need to be...

An up and coming pilot recently told me that things are pretty average working for you (if you are the above) and while you brag at getting high returns, the crews are getting peanuts and having to listen to you going off your face all the time..

A little bit of interpersonal skills would go a long way, you can fool some of the people ...........
