Virgin Commands
Had a DJ interview a few weeks ago, and they advised of a command probably within the 12-18 month time frame.
Certainly NOT inside of 6 months. Who's been told that?
Yes I do have jet time. Grand total from all flying about 5000hrs-ish.
Has this new EBA been worked out yet? Do you still get the retention bonus to 'cover' cost of endorsement?
Is the retention bonus just a one-off after your first 2 years with DJ, or is it paid every 2 years to you, so long as you keep on working for the company, an ongoing bonus of sorts?
How many hours does the average F/O and Capt do a month?
For those who have done the ETA (or other) endorsement, how do things sit with the ATO in claiming that training cost back in your taxes?
Thanks everybody
The good Dr seuss
What would you prefer - be told 6 months to command and have it take 18 months - or be told 18 months and get it in 6?
The retention bonus is not to cover the cost of the endorsement - if you choose to put it towards the cost of the endorsement good on you - but that isn't what it is for...and yes it is in the new draft EBA - paid annually at the end of the financial year.
I understand that the tax office has issued a ruling disallowing claims for the endorsement as they consider it to be a capital expense and therefore not deductible.
Not sure of the average F/O hours but the skippers are doing about 75-80 hours a month. I understand that the F/O's are doing less than that.

Wot, are they flying around single-pilot with the Captains?
Jeeze, they're good!
(Just taking the **** here)
