Highest time piston airplane?

WHat's the highest frame time on a piston airplane out there? I was flying one with 17,000. Anyone beat that?

Hardy Aviation C404 VH-ANM had 25000+ when I was flying it a year or so ago probably over 26000 now. Talking to the Caribou guys a couple of years they told me most of the fleet is only around 13-14k despite their age, and appeared to be well looked after as well.

As far as singles go, MAF had a C207 with around 20,000hrs and a couple of C207 in WA with 19,500hrs.

With the average age for a GA aircraft around 32 years, most have been owned by a few people/operators. Aircraft like 210 and 310 have probably been used as a private aircraft at one stage, as this was there original market.

Aircraft like a C207 or a Cheiftain/heavy twin were marketed for commercial ops and hence will generally have many more hours as they probably haven't been sitting in a hangar and only taken out on long weekends.

Back in 1980 to 1983, I was flying DC3 VH-MWQ regularly and I recall that it had more than 65,000hrs then. It has since been returned to its original airline rego of VH-MMA and exists in Darwin. By comparison, I flew DC3 VH-EQO in 1970 and it had just on 4000 hrs and was fairly fresh out of the RAAF at the time.

Yes I flew some of those 404's with 25000+ hours in Cairns. Also flew one with 9000 hours and I can honestly say they get better with age. Also flew a couple of Islanders in PNG that had 20000+ hours on them but they are a different story. Not my favourite aircraft.

C404 would have to be my favourite piston twin.
