Where to go
Looking for advice on where to go.
Based in NZ, 2000hrs mostly caravan IFR time, ATPL theory completed. Just seems nowhere is biting at all. Hoping for a multi-crew, ME IFR gig anywhere in the world - preferably a jet. Have reached out to many operators often to no response.
Anyone know of any movement/gigs going around the globe? NZ seems to be gridlocked industry wise at the current.

I think it might be a challenge locally with the 208 time looking for an opening. A few years ago it wasn’t an issue, and such time on type got a job with some major carriers. However, hold files have since built up, and in the prior years the lull period due to training backlogs has now produced many more prop pilots chasing the next opportunity.
I’d probably recommend looking for a 208 position in Cairns then go looking for a larger turboprop opportunity.

We are currently seeing a recruitment slow down. Plenty of operators globally have hold files which will see them through for a while.
It might be worth applying to some of the turboprop operators in PNG they sometimes offer touring rosters so you could return to NZ for your block time off.
PNG also recognises NZ ATPL subjects and will issue an ATPL on basis they are complete.
During the post Covid hiring boom you saw some Airlines in Australia hiring people without CASA ATPLs and an MCC but I doubt that’s the case now.

It can be a pretty tough slog getting your first jet job ( the last 8 years has been unusually quick). It sounds to me like a bit of multi-crew in a turbo prop would round out your cv.
If you have not been called for an interview I would probably get someone to look over your cv and give an honest opinion. Sometimes a candidate can be giving the wrong message through their cv and not know it.
Best of luck.

Have you tried applying for an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) for experienced pilots, O-1 for extraordinary ability, or E-3 for Australians. While major airlines often require citizenship, regional airlines and specialized operators may sponsor visas due to shortages, but you must obtain FAA certification?

"Must have a valid United States passport..."
So I don't know if that rules out visa holders.

GAM is introducing B1900’s . Maybe walk into their office and explain your goals, tell them you’re willing to turn up an prove yourself on other types ( for the appropriate salary) but are aiming for the 1900 and see what they say? You never know they might say that the advert min requirements are just a guideline an you can start training on Monday

Go to Rex.
They can do an ATPL flight test, you’ll get good exposure to multi crew operations, good standards, fast command, and then you won’t get trapped in a job with a Qantas subsidiary.
From there you’ll be able to go wherever you want.
