GA8 back to Aus, how good!
Link to Australian Flying on the GA8.
Wonder if this means the turbine variant will be back on the table?
I remember going on a flight test on the original GA8!

Mr. Duck,
You are correct. Years ago its' my understanding that Gipps Aero had to take GA8 test flying to the USA as CASA was never going to certify the cargo pod ?? I may well be wrong, but I think I'm close to the mark.

If any CASA employees are on this thread, can you kindly comment why it is that the majority of people involved in aviation firmly believe that CASA does it’s best to deter general aviation of any sort.
You'd think that CASA employees would be only too keen to do their absolute best to facilitate and fast track any aviation enterprise, after all more aviation equals more jobs at CASA, equals promotions and pay rises.

CAsA has the mandate of “safety” and a colossal suite of convoluted confusing and conflicting regulations, all backed up by strict liability, to keep the world safe from falling aeroplanes.
Their job is the business of putting reg infringers out of business, not solving any problems to keep them in business.
Australian Aviation history is an encyclopedia of individuals, charter companies and maintenance outfits flogged, bullied or driven into the ground by overzealous bureaucrats that see that as their calling.
As for the harm they do, they couldn’t give a rats. Any malfeasance on their part is well covered by the CAsA internal system, so no worries for them there. Great place to work for those of the TypeA bent, commit an offence and CAsA will CYA. It’s a system ripe for cronyism and corruption.
Pretty standard for bureaucracies these days.
And for the new Gippsland Aero…go well and stay safe.
