Just realised after watching it that it’s 3 years old. I assume it was aired on TV back then and just hit YouTube now.

Aired over four years ago….
I think the show was then behind a pay to view for a while.
All 4 were keen to go back with descendants of the trackers from Elliott and Hitchcock’s descendants.
100th Anniversary in 6 years if those guys are still making shows.

As some might guess by my user name, I have a bit of interest in it
A few of us made the trek in 2019 for the 90th anniversary of the landing there.
Chopper in from Cattle Creek Station after driving in through Wave Hill station.
Land council would only issue a permit to chopper in, not drive ;(
You can still make out from the air Dick Smiths “Hitchcock Highway” from the last fence corner to near the landing site.

Pretty lonely isolated spot even today in my opinion.
Two people had heat stroke within hours of being dropped.
Could barely pick up tent pegs or poles a minute after taking them out of bags and lying in the sun.
I was stuffed after a few minutes clearing to put a large tent up for shade, let alone imagining the poor guys trying to clear a runway with bare hands and a pocket knife.
The realisation you weren’t going to be able to takeoff/clear enough scrub or likely be found would have been horrible.

Just watched… That is edited down version of mostly the 2nd part of the 2 part original.

This is most of Part 1 getting in to the site….
The two part original that aired I’m sure was longer and pay to view on their website

There's also another one on there where Jason talks to Dick at length in the hangar, seems to have been up for 3+ years.
