ex Virgin ATR-75/76 now being stored at Mareeba

Mareeba seems to be a new staging point for the ex Virgin ATR's.
FVR, FVN, FVP parked in new hard standing at Western end of runway.
Hawkers at Cairns appear to be doing heavy maintenance on the fleet, with some disposals. Mareeba might be a cheaper parking option than Cairns for the owners/receivers.

That's great. They'll make a great artificial reef off the coast! Good for diving tourism.

Interesting to see some medium size "Tin" come to park at YMBA. Might put some dents in the new tarmac ! Read someplace that Rex is looking for ATRs , so these Virgins might just get a buyer.
Brings back memories of the Talair "Ghost Squadron" parked up after quitting PNG. Long lines of Twotters and Bandits until they all got sold off.

I was tongue in cheek mate, Mareeba according to the net is quite muggy this time of year ( up to 70% humidity ) and worse in Jan Feb.....

The humidity was killing the Cx fleet in HK, that’s why they are in ASP.

They should be in ASP....if not then WTB with the 777 330 and 737’s

VA ATR's from Mareeba next to PNG with 5T each of a certain white powder. Bit of a step up from a crappy C402!
