Sunny.. Governments keep wanting to build more prisons. But I dont see any more airfields being built ,,or existing ones protected as airfields. Bit of dosh here and there for upgrades , so we can be thankful for small mercies
Item in todays Oz about Essendon , owner of half about to do more (non avaition) development.
The capital gain on EN is enormous Cost 22 mil , worth 1 billion
When we all have Quadcopters and dont need airfields we can go land on the roof of the Essendon Super Shopping Megaplex.

Cit jet,

South Dandenong was a North South airstrip, shortish but very convenient.
Just S/E of Moorabbin and was used often by Royal Vic Aero Club for their monthly competitions.
I landed there a few times in a Chipmunk during the early 1970's. I would suggest it was around since the early days.

No idea about evictions, but there is work happening in the grassy area abutting Grange Road. Workers huts have been installed, and lots of digging/grading has been happening.

I've heard on good authority, that shop owners are desperately trying to buy / rent / find hangars at regional airports near Melbourne.
