Tyabb Airshow Returns?

Apparently the Tyabb airshow is back on. Could it be that the Leopard has changed its spots?

Thumbs up for air show - MPNEWSMPNEWS

Pretty ambiguous article. Starts off saying it's definitely back on but by the time you finish reading the article it sounds like nothing has been sorted out yet..! Maybe the start of the article is an update on how things were a few days ago further down..(?).
Anyway, from what I'm hearing around the traps, it is back on which is great news. They're up against it now with the timeframe to get it organised but I'm sure they'll put it together in time as they always do. Well done PAC...!

He had just interviewed the respective parties and they said GO....

Don’t discount the publicity brought by 3AW helping the Peninsula aero club on both morning and drive shows AGAINST the council.

From the Peninsula Aero Club newsletter....
After months of no progress with the Shire to agree on a workable permit process, we finally achieved a breakthrough when the Shire CEO agreed to relax the permit requirements. The Shire also agreed to reintroduce the Secondary Consent process, which we had used to manage our primary permit conditions over previous years. I was pleased the Shire CEO (John Baker) has personally become involved and is trying to see things through our lens to allow us to facilitate the Airshow.

I have no doubts in my mind this outcome has all come about through people power across the Peninsula and beyond. I have been utterly taken by surprise by the number of offers of help and support that have come from our local Community to help us close the gaps in the airshow organisation.

Whilst we have a huge amount of work to complete in such a short period of time, the Airshow Committee is incredibly excited that the 2020 airshow will go ahead. We have some great ideas to make our airshow one of the best ever and deliver on everyones expectation of the Tyabb airshow as an international icon event.

Soon we will be sending out a call for volunteers for various jobs and we will need all the help we can get. When members receive their invitation please offer your support to play your part and make the 2020 Tyabb Airshow the best we can, and lets raise as much money as we can to assist our community.

President Jack

Tyabb 2020 Airshow takes flight
Published on 26 September 2019

26 September 2019 Mornington Peninsula Shire has approved and issued the Peninsula Aero Club’s (PAC) permits for the Tyabb 2020 Airshow. Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Councillor David Gill said “we were always committed to seeing the Airshow proceed. It is a great event for the Peninsula, providing significant charitable donations for the local community and a showcase for aero enthusiasts”. Watson Ward Councillor Julie Morris added “we look forward to seeing the Tyabb Airshow in 2020. This is a staple event for the Mornington Peninsula that focuses on giving back to the community”. The permits are available to be inspected at the Shire’s Mornington office during office hours.

....this makes it official.
