I know I'm going to sound like a Buzz Kill here but as a former Survey Pilot this sort of thing worries me greatly, I remember the job being hard enough to see and avoid whilst doing your best to keep on track sometimes in turbulent conditions with normal GA traffic moving in predictable tracks, Training Aircraft were usually my biggest concern as they could often be out Solo and uncertain of their intentions (like we all were back there) and it's hard enough in general to describe what we're doing to people let alone someone doing their best just to get from A to B. Knowing there were people out there doing this sort of thing for the sake of showing off does not help that feeling of concern.
I honestly don't think this is something that CASA shouldn't be stepping in on (Though this young bloke/blokette shouldn't be surprised if this raises their ire and I think posting it on social media is a huge mistake) but I certainly hope the CFI and/or CP give them a kick in the ass for this and they think twice in the future, it certainly isn't a good look for their Students who may seek to one up or mimic the behaviour.

Everyone should only ever fly in a straight line at a constant altitude.
Same on the roads...those drivers turning corners and accelerating and stuff - they are so reckless....

I would like to know what technique the pilot used to webtrack write their message? Did they write it on a wac and employ map to ground technique or is there a touch of Aspergers talent going on? This was done in europe about 4 years ago. Penis’, not text.

Whilst I am of the opinion that it shows a concentrated piece of accurate flying even if GPS assisted, and accurate timing of legs, I have one point of difference!
If he was really bored, then I would suggest that he give much thought to his future ambitions.
In all of my albeit short Aviating career (just over 4,000hrs) both here in Australia and in PNG, I have been sometimes relaxed, excited, apprehensive, concerned and for brief moments even terrified!
But never ever bored whilst flying. Not even when doing the 30th or so Glider tow of the day, commencing the 4th hour of the day doing bird chasing all those years ago or doing a long overwater (or anywhere) leg in a Bongo Van back in my all-too-short taim bilong PNG!
Boring? Never!
If he was really bored, then I would suggest that he give much thought to his future ambitions.

From what I have heard, the aircraft had a certain amount of hours left before an engine change is required and was restricted to training area flights. Hence the pilots doing such thing to kill time. Also ******* good tracking to be able to do it

Engine run-ins, after ground-checks, also require lots of constant power-for-a-time for ring break-in.
If memory serves correctly (was about 15 years ago) for a Lycoming 360, it's 75% power for an hour, then alternating 75%-65% power for a couple more hours. Clearly on a new/reconditioned engine you'd want to be over non-tiger-territory too. Mineral oil and no continuous lower-power ops (e.g. circuits) too for 50 hrs then oil change. Or something like that. In a training aircraft, first 3-4 hrs are essentially non-revenue-earning and next 47 hrs are cross-country-limited-circuits.

I say well done to the pilot, showing a bit of flair.
However I would also say maybe a bad choice of drawing to share. It’s been done before so why not draw something new, something that shows initiative.
Maybe a budding pilot could have drawn -
“Completing my CPL, looking for a job, find me @ .......”

Back in the mid 1960s or so, a controller mate of mind wound up in trouble, "routine" listening to tapes revealed an incident like that, but also revealed that the controller has not raised a "225" --- he got such a blasting that the union had to intervene and restore a bit of balance in a very insignificant early AM incident, of no air safety possible consequence.
