What the gun does is take control of the GPS and either cut it so the drone doesn’t know where it is or it will take control of the GPS and send it back where it came from
According to the ATIS at Jandakot there was an "unauthorised RPAS" at the Northern Apron yesterday. I've seen one at 1500' directly overhead Powerhouse, in the Jandakot downwind leg at circuit height and at Canning Bridge. They are a menace whether they are taking photos for money or not.
