GA8 Training/Hire/ICUS

Good morning all,

I know there are a few operators around the place that can provide training on aircraft such as the C206/C210/C208.

Does anyone know of any who can provide training at a reasonable rate (and maybe some ICUS) on the GA8?

Feel free to PM me if not appropriate to post in the thread.

Cheers
Mike

Go get yourself the C206 time Mikewil, honestly, any operator who has GA8s will look at your 206 time and reckon you're able to handle a GA8, but the ones with 206s probably wouldn't look the same way at GA8 time, whether rightly or wrongly. This is based on my experience of course.

Not to mention there are few and far between anyone with GA8 time applying for a GA8 job, so its unlikely they'll be getting many applicants with it anywho if you're worried about a competitive edge.

The GA8 is a fairly docile creature, there isn't anything too much to learn about it other than making sure the rear door is definitely closed, getting your right arm strength up for the stupid flap lever and learning some extra fun curse words to use when trying to remove or install the seats!! The rest really all is in the manual.

Take Ixixly's advice. Young lady I know who had Cessna time, but not a lot, was given a ferry job in an Airvan with no prior experience in same, with about one hour PN to get up to speed.

Young lady I know who had Cessna 182/207 time

207 time would be pretty unique these days. Are there any operators besides the obvious one in outback SA who still operate 207s these days?

I hear that if you can fly one of them, you are capable of flying just about any piston single!

You don't 'fly C207's, you charm them into the air!

There's at least one I see in Essendon a bit. Got about 700+ hours in 207s, I actually really like flying them myself, especially when they've got the IO550 upfront they're a good machine!
