Information wanted about Sydney Airport in Australia
In June and July 1984 I was 18 nights in Australia to see and photograph the far-south stars (astronomy) that are too far south for me to see them in England. I was 2 nights in the Sydney Airport Hilton Hotel, and between those 2 nights I was 16 nights in a motel in Coonabarabran.
Today I searched in Google Earth to try to find again the places that I went to.
I cannot find the Sydney Airport Hilton Hotel. Has it been renamed? (I found the main Sydney Hilton Hotel in the city.)
How much has Sydney Airport been changed since I was there in 1984? When I was there, it had a terminal called East and West.

The domestic terminal was on the east side of the north/south runway and international on the west side. Perhaps they were known as east/west terminals by some (taxi drivers?), unable to shed light if that may have been the case.
You might also have found Australian Airlines, Airlines of NSW, Compass, and a parking spot outside the briefing office, to put in your full-reporting flight plan.
You could also buy a membership to the Qantas Club, rock up any time (no need to have a boarding pass) and drink free booze and eat free food.

....and Compass only started in 1990, so no, not that one either.
You can still buy Qantas Club membership.... at $400/yr you’d however have to make yourself sick on the crappy Seppelt bubbles they claim as champagne to get your money’s “worth”... and also you need a boarding pass now.
@Anthony: A friend is running this, perhaps you’d like a southern sky refresher? http://www.3rf.com.au
