Can We Borrow Donald Trump Please?
As regards the Donald - it amazes me that so many downtrodden working class Americans were prepared to vote in a billionaire President, who has made a lifetime career out of ripping people off.
via onetrack:
...his stated policies are unworkable - and he possesses no vision...
The problem simply is one of crushing debt - monstrous Govt debt, and huge levels of personal debt, that neither the U.S. Govt, nor individual Americans, will ever be able to get on top of.
The Donalds plans to launch massive infrastructure projects and restore the steel and coal industries to what they were previously, are merely dreams that will collapse in the face of reality.
Those reality questions will be along the lines of, "where are you going to get the money? - and how exactly do you plan to repay it?".

Joanne Nova comments...
Trump named Myron Ebell as his new “EPA Dismantler”.
“Ebell, the director of the Center for Energy and Environment at the Competitive Enterprise Institute and a prominent climate-change skeptic, was chosen at the end of September to head the Environmental Protection Agency’s transition team…” – Newsweek
Ebell is a complete skeptic. I’ve met him at Heartland Climate Change conferences and he’s a good man. A great choice.
In May Trump offered up the Skeptics Christmas Wish List:
1) Trump pledged to rip up Paris climate agreement in energy speech -
2) Trump railed against “draconian climate rules” -
3) and withdraw any funding for United Nations programs related to global warming.

As cheap power is the basis of a productive economy it looks to me that Trump is on the right track. ...and stopping Billion dollar payments to the U.N, well...

I totally understand why people are peeed-off with the career political-classes., I am too., but I do not grant my vote to insane narcissists.
He won't have the shackles of a senate that has been in practical gridlock for the past 8 years because of an obsessive opposition to anything, anything that the Dems proposed.
It's only been 4 days since the election and the D has started to modify some of his 'promises'. I wonder how his rabid followers will cope with that.
Sigh.

Aussie Bob - Certainly, Hillary was not a viable alternative - a power-hungry animal if ever there was one. But the interesting part is the amount of Republicans who intensely dislike Trump and his policies. Trump will be the most polarising leader the world has ever seen.
He's a poor listener, shallow as a roadside puddle, claims he's never read a book right through, has the attention span of a 5 yr old, and is a perennial agitator who delights in initiating agitation, without any providing any worthy answers or ideas himself.
I've worked with people just like Trump - they are essentially bipolar and a PIA to try and work with, and they will change tack and direction a complete 180 degrees, so fast, you don't even see it coming.
The man is one of the classic erratic managers, who mistakes movement for action, and hates to see a peaceful pond, intent on producing major ripples in it, and then imagining those ripples are life-changing events initiated by him - when all they do, is cause upset and discord.

Trump wants to make America great again.
The Greens, Democrats, CNN, and Walid Ali were right, Trump is nuts.
The USA really just needs same sex marriage, windfarms, free hooch, and solar panels, and everything will be just fine.

Johnny H and that idiot dropkick deputy of his JA had a good hand in ruining GA in this country. Selling off Hoxton Park that lead to its ultimate closure. Bankstown and Camden look how brilliant that turned out. Followed by privatising Sydney and the rest of the airports in the capital and regional centres, followed by ASIC's for everyone.
Pigs in troughs.

Time to have a businessman to run arguably the biggest corporation on earth, rather than a politician

Unfortunately, I believe Trump only sees the Presidency of USA Inc as a handy extension of Trump Inc, and he can't differentiate between the two.
The latest stunt of slotting all his family and friends into powerful positions around the Presidency is just a sign of the nepotism and cronyism to come.
I personally reckon the Trump Presidency will equal Mugabes, for nepotism and incompetence.
Uncle Sams finances will no doubt become conveniently and inextricably linked to Trump Inc's finances, because of Trump's likely inability to keep his personal wealth separate from Govt wealth.
I'm inclined to agree with the election result guru, Prof. Allan Lichtman, with regard to Trumps Presidency - that Trump will be impeached during the course of his Presidency - and it will be a toss-up between whether the impeachment is due to Trump financial tie-up woes, or Trumps erratic behaviour and decision-making, that leads to some disastrous Govt actions.

At a guess - USA as a aircraft manufacturer and Australia's exports to USA of almost $1 billion in aircraft related stuff.
So that will or will not effect Australian aviation depending on, well Mr Trump.

Binghi - Prof. Lichtman might be a DemonRat - but that's irrelevant, when the simple fact remains, he has accurately predicted the outcome of every U.S. Presidential election since 1984, by utilising his carefully-structured, 13-key true/false question formula.

Have a read of some of lichtmans news articles and you will find he is not only a democrat he is also one of those global warming hysterics. Trump wants to rid America of the global warming scam, so...

Perhaps that's true?
But with 58 comments posted over about four days, some people are certainly watching.
