Chipmunk NSW, Private Hire
Its been a while since I've flown a dhc1 chipmunk and starting to miss it a little.
Does anyone know of any in the Sydney/Newcastle/Illawarra area available for private hire flight?
Its a long-shot i know, but if i don't ask...

Pretty sure there is one maybe two at luskintyre in the hunter valley (between maitland and singleton). Great airfield and good monthly Sunday BBQs where you're bound to bump into an owner

Contacted Airborne a little while back: their chippie has moved elsewhere, and the other one in their hangar is a privately owned.
Have been meaning to get out to Lusky, looks like a nice place to spend half a day. Will give it a go... (Though, i saw a modified chippie had a bit of a runway overshoot there a while back...)

It's a bit outside of the Sydney basin, but call Hazair in Albury. They hire VH-CPI out to suitably qualified pilots. The aircraft is undergoing a refurbishment at present, but should be up and running again soon.

The rates were very reasonable when I last flew it, yes they do allow solo if you're proficient and appropriately qualified. Look up their number and call them to get details of rates and availability - Hazair, Albury.
