Aircraft hire in the Darwin region

G'day everyone. I'm guessing this has been covered before but I'm looking to hire either a 172, 182, 206 or 210 from Darwin. Just moved up after living in Broome and would love to get some recent experience as have not flown for a while. Any info would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I would say the only place you may get your hands on a rental is Bachelor. Av8 had a flying school that rented out but they went the way of the Dodo last year.

Coomalie might hire their 182 out.

There is a 172 down there that is privately owned the owner has been known to hire out to people, name escapes me, but I found him after putting an ad in the classifieds.

Might be something down at MKT, best to give the Top End Flying Club a call and ask.

Does anyone know if DQE is still around? I know that you used to be able to hire that..

@Lasiorhinus: Is that 177 the orange and white one? Haven't seen that move in years.

It used to be red, then became orange over a number of years, but is now freshly painted blue, and flies quite regularly. New owner, lots of work done.

DQE... now there's a plane I haven't seen in a while. It's not in Darwin, that much I know.

Ah so it did get sold. Last time I enquired about that 177 for private hire the then owner had lost his medical and was looking to sell it then. A young ATC was hiring it in block hours until the sale.

Never did end up getting to fly it

Hire in Darwin

Hello. Sorry to disturb you. Just wondering if you would still have the contacts of the aircraft owners in Darwin. I recently moved here and am in need to some flight time to keep my skills up while I'm trying to find a flying job. Thanks.
