IREX & Part 61

Does anyone know what (if any) effect part 61 will have on the IREX? Is it worthwhile sitting the exam before the change over?

If you are that early into your training for the I.R. there would not appear to be any advantage in doing the IREX now if the practical part is yet to follow. Just wait to see what new rule questions end up in whatever exam replaces the existing - if any. Why confuse yourself meantime?
