Single down near Caloundra
Saw briefly on Ch 10 news that an aircraft had landed in a paddock near Caloundra, Bells Pocket Rd or some such. 3 POB, no injuries they say. Quick shot looked like a Bonnie; whatever it is, it got a little bent about the firewall.

I was beginning to think the accident was the product of an over-stimulated, Friday evening imagination, however I see the local rag has reported on it. As usual the original report had it as one of those pesky Cessna thingies
, only surprise is it wasn't reported as an ultralight.

"THE RACQ CareFlight Rescue flew to the aid of three Brisbane men involved in a single-engine plane crash in Caloundra on Friday afternoon.
The Beechcraft they were flying in experienced engine trouble shortly after take-off from Caloundra Airport.
"The pilot told us the aircraft lost power and he had to perform an emergency landing," RACQ CareFlight Rescue Air Crewman Rick Harvey said.
The plane was brought down in a paddock about three kilometres from the airport. The pilot and his two passengers all walked away from the crash.
"The pilot's done a really good job getting the aircraft down safely," Mr Harvey said.
"They all walked away from the crash. One of the passengers had a bruised knee but the other passenger and pilot weren't injured at all."
With the three men assessed as having only minor injuries, their care was handed over to road ambulance crews before RACQ CareFlight was cleared to leave the scene. "

A LIGHT plane has been forced to make an emergency landing in a paddock after a fault during take off from Caloundra Airport.
Emergency services located the single engine Cessna plane which made a forced landing in a paddock at Caloundra.
The plane has been located at the rear of Bellvista Estate.
Initial reports suggest all passengers are out of the aircraft.
Emergency services were earlier trying to find the plane which had three passengers on board.
The pilot performed a forced landing after smelling burning in the cockpit.
Two calls were made to police to alert them to the paddock landing"

And under the circumstances with smoke in the cabin, at 300' and only one flat ground (almost ) an excellent decision and execution of he plan.
The goal now is to get the owner and other two pilots back in the saddle ASAP.
