Zappalin: Palawan is a stunning place. More photos to come over the coming weeks.
Jaba: I was getting sick of the same photos too! New environment and the only Caravan Amphib in the Philippines so expect many photos over the next little while.

To all: The Nikon is getting a serious workout so provided everyone is happy to see a Caravan EX then the photos can continue. As previously said this is a stunning country that is so photographic.

Stantley park is a great place to watch the guys from harbour air take off and land, they generally fly right over the sea wall.
Plus the scenery make for some stunning photos

More Beavers then a Justin Beiber concert. 
Just me or has the rear aircraft tied up on the jetty got something on the top right engine cowling that the front aircraft hasn't?
And while we're at it, is that a bit of debris in the water on the other side of the jetty?
Ok one more. On the next pic down I also spotted something in the water. 3 across(left of floatplane) and 2 down and you should find it. Looks like the top of a submarine periscope sticking out.
So I'm concerned when I see things in the water near floatplanes.
Edit...well crap. Go straight up and you see what looks like a big floating log in the water.
Or is it another submarine? Bloody minefield that waterway is!

Yep, there is indeed something on top of the cowling, maybe someone will know what it is.
There's a lump of wood in the water on the other side of the pier, in the high-res version it looks like a sleeper or something.
The periscope is in fact the top of the mast of a yacht moored in the foreground, out of frame.
As far as floating crap goes, a few logs here and there is nothing compared to dodging bigger floaties like tankers, yachts and countless Beavers and Otters - mind you, at least you can see them!

The "something" on the top of the Beaver cowl is the scoop for the upper air induction system, originally all the military beavers had this modification, though many civilian models have also been converted. The civilian scoop, as on the Beaver at the front, is located at the front of the bottom of the cowl.

HA/Westcoast Air
I was in Canada a couple of years ago took the train from Toronto to Vancouver (winter time heaps of snow and never seen so many trees)
While in YVR I took a trip down to Victoria Island on HA/Westcoast Air on a DHC-3T the pilot invited me to the R/H seat and he had flown float planes for around 20 years the landing was so smooth on the return trip it was a DHC-6-200 and the Co-pilot had a non Canadian accent turned out to be a Kiwi and was the CP. I saw a lot of floating logs in the harbor and washed up on the shoreline of Stanley Park so I guess they are a hazard.

@BravoHotel: your not wrong. There's a ton of debris in the harbour i'm amazed there isn't a ton of incidents from both the aircraft and boats hitting something.
