Pictured Cirrus came to grief 2 days ago

The ATSB has commenced an investigation into a runway excursion involving a Cirrus SR22 at Great Lakes Airport, Victoria, on 30 March 2014.
During the landing on runway 31, the aircraft over-ran the runway surface and collided with a fence resulting in substantial damage.
As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview the pilot and gather additional information.

A report will be released within several months (years).

Runway 31 at Great Lakes has a large upwards gradient. It's no Lukla but it's pretty steep! You'd expect an overrun on the reciprocal runway.

Most of these airports are easy to identify.
See how you all go?

Hi Aye Ess

Just looking at some back issues of this thread and saw the photo that you posted of your painting of VH-CAE on 23 March 2013. Looked to my left and there it is hanging on my wall! Wonderful! Do you still accept commissions for these? Cheers.

Caught this "grand old lady" in a crosswind landing whilst the wife was shopping at the nursery for pot plants near WOL ... now she knows why I don't mind taking her there..

ASK-21

Full Opposite, that would be ASK-21 BXC of Balaklava GC, probably somewhere over Whitwarter, SA.

Correct A/C - location is a bit further north in the Melrose area on a 'barnstorming trip' a few weeks back. Normally at home at YBVA.

Zac Your photo is too big and distorting the site. Anyhow it's a B727-100 of Malibu Consulting Corporation at Nandi in Fiji.
There are a couple of Asia Pacific Airline 727s floating around the Pacific with RR Tays on 1 and 3 with number 2 engine retaining the JT8, also with winglets. Beautiful looking aeroplanes.

Great photo FOR.
Thank you .... It's nice when it all comes together. Even at 45 - 55 kts it's hard to get them in the frame at the right instant. It was more luck than skill
