High Altitude Vapour Trails over Melbourne
With the jetstream up to 160kts at the moment, any jet aircraft would appear to be moving very quickly over the ground.

Krusty - I know, that stands to reason. And I do know that sound well. But no, I didn't hear it.
It left a condensation trail that looked like it was a twin, so it could not have been a meteorite.
But seriously, it tracked across the sky like the ISS does some nights. i.e. Very Quickly.
I guess it will remain a mystery. We're obviously not supposed to know.

Chemtrails and who's responsible?

This type of activity is commonplace over the UK and I like you wanted to find out who 'They' are, this link is quite effective, give it a go!
Cloud seeding is going on all the time here under the guise of 'Climate change', a less fancy name is Geo Engineering!!

It's often wheeled out by the 'chemtrails' woo-woo's as being an example of the conspiracy evilness being forced onto the public, but in reality it's hardly worth mentioning.
Then there's the problem of no spraying equipment ever being found in any airliner ever, no aircrew or ground crew ever being caught doing it or admitting to doing it, etc.
It's simple fiction that attracts the gullible.

Let me clarify: When I started this thread I wasn't suggesting this was a chemical contrail or any kind of subversive activity.
It was simply a case of what appeared to me to be a very fast aircraft leaving what looked like a very normal vapour trail in the upper atmosphere. It was the speed that intrigued me, not the composition of the trail itself, which I had presumed was the normal condensed water byproduct of burning jet fuel.
It seems now that a very fast-moving jetstream probably contributed to an higher than usual apparent speed as observed from the ground.
