When to begin wearing wings?

Given that this is deemed by many to be the home of silly questions...

Is it:
a) After 1st solo?
b) After GFPT?
c) After PPL?
d) Some other random or arbitrary point?
or, of course
e) Never, because the wearing of wings will forever mark one as learned in the art of applying corporal punishment to small primates?

Thoughts, ladies and gents? Or even the rest of you, if you like.

When the company uniform policy stipulates it.

OR

At the bar, so all the chicks know you're a pilot before you tell them.

OR

On the Airline flight so you can tell the biscuit chuckers that you can help with an emergency (whilst pointing to the wings)

OR

At the local servo so you can bask in the gaze of confused and slightly alarmed customers (I did this recently, but I left the house without pants, very embarassing as I had mismatched socks on).
