Parking Meters at YPJT...

YPJT....

Hang on to your 'Company' parking areas Chaps and Chapesses.

Seen today at JT, the installation of PARKING METERS on the so called Public Parking Areas.

And, from what I can glean, A COMPLETE suprise to the tenants....The Aero Clubs, Training Facilities, Maintenance Organisations, etc etc.

No 'consultation' - just the appearance of the meters and some new signage.

How will this affect the students, clients of these organisations, and as importantly, the staff of those organisations?

No rates announced as yet, as the 'slot machines' were still covered up.

How will this affect YOUR organisation?? YOUR Clients / Students??

With all of the 'Industrial Development' going on 'out the back' there, is this just more than a 'bit' over the top?

OVAH!!

I am sure those ATM bandits over there at the moment would be very helpful in removing them.

The latest 'rumour' this evening is that the parking 'rights' have been sold on to Wilsons Parking, who will manage / collect revenue / wheel clamp (??)etc etc....

NIL consultation with any of the airport tenants...confirmed by three independant sources....

I have some fond memories of what Jandakot was before the Yarpies got Garrett wrapped around their finger.

They're taking greed to a whole new level.

If they get away with it at YPJT, should you expect to see it at Archerfield, Bankstown and Moorabbin in the near future?

The only way you are ever going to stop this leeching is via going on strike. You keep bashing GA? Now try and do without it for a week or Two.

Completly out of control. When the last aircraft has landed for good, then they will be happy as they will finally be able to sell off the land. Every day they think up new ways to destroy Jandakot airport.

I'm sorry, but this crap just gets to me.

Sure, we need councils/derocrats to keep some semblemce of order in the greater community, however, the level of citizen control in this country is out of control and just getting worse, at a seemingly accellerating rate.

When will it end? It will end when the average citizen bands together and anarchy prevails...probably not in our lifetime

You know its bad when the rule writers complain about the number of rules as they are mid way through writing a new one.

Cool Hand Luke...good movie.! How long ago was it.? Him of the salad sauce.

Sounds like Jandakot folk need to round up their pipe cutters, borrow ski masks and get to work.! NVFR of course.
Off with their heads!

Oz is sure turning into the land of rapacious and rampant capitalism.

Catching the Sydney airport monoply disease are they.?

If the airport parking area is private property, then a private company cannot fine you, the issue a statement of liquidated damages for breech of contract . But they wont take you to court. Would cost them $5000 to reclaim $88.

It is Commonwealth property. It belongs to all of us.

As a tenant, the first I heard of it was yesterday from someone who had seen the machines go up along the road.

If the fees were going towards maintenance of airport infrastructure that would be one thing, but somehow I think it will just go towards more bulldozers churning up what was once pristine bush until Garrett gave them the go-ahead to destroy it and replace it with hideous tilt-up monstrosities that you have to look at as you wait for the lollipop man to let you out so you can go to the next traffic jam.

And how about those light poles on short final for 12?

Parking Meters at YPJT

I heard about the parking meters 2 weeks ago and must admit it came as no surprise.Anyone who has been near the airport of late is absolutely disgusted with the "mining" on a Commonwealth lease which is taking place ,continually, without any resistance from local or state government depts, who claim that it was an agreement done (allegedly) with a former Labor minister, and is totally out of their control.
The Jandakot water mound has been decimated by the removal of the natural bansia forest.Natural flora and fauna is nearly non-existent.
They (JAH) have already shut down Jandakot Welding & Engineering Services, claiming they needed the plot for a power sub-station.Strangely enough ,the same building is currently surrounded by a brand new fence & i think being used as a storage shed,or similar, for ERG training centre's NEW facility.
The commercial development is going ahead at an alarming rate,so it is only a matter of time before these tyrants need more space on the airport proper. So beware, existing leaseholders.I suggest you carefully read the terms & conditions of your lease, because,if there is a clause in it that enables this money-grabbing mob to terminate your lease ,or increase the rates to an un-affordable price,THEY WILL ENFORCE IT.

I moved off JT,after working there for over 40 years, and am currently trading from my home address where the stress levels are non-existent,but it sickens me to see what has happened to,what used to be the most enjoyable workplace that anyone involved in avation could ever wish for.
I have written articles in the local papers, had meetings/correspondence with Joe Francis, who occupies the seat of Jandakot, all to no avail.
When one of the articles appeared in a local paper,i had a call from Leo Seward (Property Development Officer ,or whatever) from JAH,accusing me of being a liar because of what i had said regarding the future of the airport. What i stated is already happening.
I think it's time for people who give a damn for the future of Jandakot Airport to stand up and fight ,or, in 5 years time you will be left with runways (which constitute an airfield) and very little else to support one of the busiest airports in Australia.
JAH's latest planning debacle is the 4th runway, which, according to the "master plan" i saw, shows the over-run going straight thru the Royal Aero Club .Work that one out.
Anyone out there listening???????????
Comments would be appreciated.

Good luck to all that remain

Glen Beard

So does that mean the Toyota Cressida will no longer be part of the scenery?

Perhaps the fees will help pay for the proposed runway expansions.
