AHUF

I'm wading my way through AHUF, using David Robsons book "Human Being Pilot", and the CASA notes "Safety Behaviours - Resource Guide for Pilots".

The CASA booklet on TEM seems to cover all bases about that topic, however can anyone make comment on the "Human Being Pilot" book?

I've been studying it for a while now, and it contains so much information, that it seems to now be becoming white noise - a babble of water over rocks. Hard to see the wood from the trees. Pick your cliche.

Also, in some parts, the author uses "opinion". I'm not interested in "opinion", I want to have accurate information to pass the AHUF exam.

Is there a source of AHUF sample papers? The above book covers a lot of ground, but how much is pertinant to the exam?

And please...no sniffy comments about "knowing all of it to become a safer pilot", I'd just like advice please.

By all accounts, Mr Robson's book has some quality stuff in it. As does anything by Tony Hern, as does the ATC (Trevor Thom) book.

All of these should be perused, at your leisure, for your professional development, LATER!!

To get yourself through the exam, get hold of Bob Tait's book, read every word, then source as many practice exams as you can. This usually requires some level of skullduggery.

Disclaimer: I undertook the exam prior to the syllabus change including TEM, so not sure about that. Advice from someone who was been through the wringer required here.

The philosophy is the same though - your current aim is to pass an exam full of ambiguous questions, which appears to be more a test of comprehension rather than your knowledge. You can become an authority on the subject LATER!

Good Luck!

You'll find that CAAP 5.59-1(0) has some worthy information too.
