Unbelievable...
What a sad state of affairs. Where do you get your information? How many of you even know of me, let alone know me? Obviously the answer is none.
Your comments are to the most extent childish, some dont even make sense.
To those of you who decided to make it a personal attack, shame on you, is that what you consider professionalism? If you are going to slander and defame me at least have the decency to identify yourselves.
My telephone number is 0400418052 - use it, dont make assumptions, find out facts. You might just be surprised by the truth.
Ausflier - frogs, scorpions, hat in hand, scams??? Would you be an idiot Ive previously employed? Perhaps you would like to identify yourself rather than hide behind a non de plume, I doubt it, cowards prefer to hide.
Most comments have done nothing but embarrass yourselves and your profession.

Question is, does the ad list the character flaws of one ex employee?
Or several? Or all?
Might now be difficult for any ex employee to find employment given the brush they have all been tarred with.

Answer is
The ad lists the things that I do not want in any employee, nor Operator, nor Farmer, nor the Industry in general, as it states I want to promote Best Practise not Common Practise. As I was only looking to employ a Pilot, the advertisement only made reference to pilots. Had I required a mixer, Operator, CASA representative, landholder, etc, etc, the ad would have read very much the same. I am not niave to the downfalls of all parties, myself included.
Pilots, Operators, whomever, it is already a case of being tarred with the same brush, just look at the assumptions made about how my business is conducted. In an industry that relies on honest, open communication there is way too much bull****.
It is part of this Companies Business Plan (and was prior to what you might find trawling through recent ATSB final reports) to attempt to have inadequacies in industry practices and standards recognised and addressed, particularly in relation to safety. One of the ways of doing that was by employing the right people, hence the no frills ad.
Surprisingly it seems a lot of people here think it was written about them, sorry to disappoint. However amongst the comments here, I do believe there may be an ex employee (with all the NO traits) within the ranks, but who knows, Im the only one whose identity is public.

Ausflier - are you the idiot
Are you the "trained monkey" (your words not mine) I once employed
Who tampered with the aircraft?
Who whilst under the influence of alcohol rang the Federal Police accusing your mixer operator of intending to make a bomb from Urea and diesel?
Who ground looped the aircraft?
Who disappeared for days on end whilst work waited, waited, waited...?
Who started referring to himself as Capt?
Who could not go a day without alcohol?
Who said he didnt have a Tax File Number but did have lots of off shore bank accounts?
Who said about his asian wife, and mother of his 3 sons "the bitch will have to prove herself if she thinks Im going to bring her here"?
Who went around to customers spreading lies about not being paid?
Who wont supply requested information and is now hiding in the mining industry?
Is that you old mate?

Haven't we...so you can understand where I'm coming from then Cecil?
The distressing part is it's not a "game", and it is people not "characters".
If only the solution was as simple as the application of an ACME product we would all be in a much better place.

When i first read the advert I had a little giggle, mainly because I though someone was pulling my leg. But it turns out that this is a real position. Surely someone hasn't actually applied for this job. I'm sorry to say but my first impression of the employer is someone that will never be pleased. Note to self - Never get an ag rating!

Its frigatebird with a small 'f'. (I'm proud of what I've done, but not up myself.) My comments were a general take on the way all the ads these days have stringent 'must have' requirements. And then you complain about how you can't get suitable people....!!?? Train a few and mentor them to your ways if necessary, I've found that every company I have worked for thinks they are the Best and Greatest, just because they are still in business, even though a new hire has to fit in to the new way of doing the same things no matter how much or how little experience they have. The hardest thing I have found in forty years, is trying to give an employer good advice. Well I have some tailwheel time, (got it for the experience), but don't have - and won't be getting - an Ag rating, so wont be applying..
The way you come across all agro in your ad, and here, - I wouldn't pass it on to someone qualified tho..

I too read this job and thought what a joke.
If you need a job Ag flying then all you do is pick the phone up and you shouldn't have a problem in the current state unless you are a cowboy with a bad reputation.
Sorry to say Sheryl but normally a good pilot can find a job and there is little motivation in your job ad to employ a good pilot with all the choices he would have out there compared to your terms and conditions.
It simply looks like you would want way too much from someone.
Fully understand your sick of these cowboys and you need a good pilot to stick around but all the good pilots have lots of options at the minute and your ad looks like a joke.

If it is as easy as picking up the phone and you have a job flying Ag then why do I have countless emails from other Operators giving me positive feedback for the ad, the honesty and asking for the contact details of any surplus applicants? Dont be dillisional. The problem is not just mine, its industry wide.
You just dont get it, Im not some overbearing, dominating, demanding moron, Im someone that is genuninely aware of their own limitations and hence the need for experienced people as part of a team that is dedicated to better practises and conditions for all involved, particularly pilots, believe it or not.
Anyway, its probably time everyone moved on to another topic, this thread is getting tired and unproductive, lots of opinions, few people up to the job.
To those of you that have sent me your resumes, thank you. I am currently sorting through them and will respond in the near future.

Rach, easy answer just go and get your Com/AG rating and you won't have to worry about those pesky ag pilots.

Sheryl, that was a serious suggestion. Take it how you want too but if you haven't found anybody in what is it forty years of employing pilots? Then maybe it would be better to do it yourself?
