Post Times???

Only a minor thing, NOT a complaint, just it seems very odd and I cannot see why it happens?

Even allowing for IF the Forums assume everyone has played with their clocks (yes CLOCKS) DST, it is still weird.

The times of posts are often completely wrong, this happens a lot lately, for example one of mine says I posted it last night hours after I was safely tucked up in bed, and one from another Member on a different thread says he posted it this morning, but I KNOW it was there yesterday afternoon.

YES nothing serious, and NO I have nothing better to do just curious.

This is just weird, unless someone has a simple answer that I am missing?

The post I mentioned before, if you look ON the thread it says it was posted yesterday at 2057, which would be correct.

However in the list of topics it said this morning that the last post was (sometime early this morning I didn't write it down), and NOW it says the last post, SAME ONE was at 0904 this morning?

PPRuNe's clock has been out of whack with reality for a couple of years now. I don't know if it's the American owners view of the world or to blame the Froggies for Universal Time Co-ordinated.

You are right airsupport, the clock is out of whack

I too noticed the time problem very early this morning.

Quite weird this morning when the forum summary was showing posts for today, whilst the last post in those threads had a date/time of yesterday - almost as if the Forum summary was in one time zone and posts in another time zone.

Very annoying for Mods to check todays posts in threads, only to find they were posted and checked yesterday.

The wheel fell off the PPRuNe date/time stamp months and months ago and no one seems able to fix it. Something further has fallen apart in the last 24 hours.

I'll go over to the Mod House and see what the big boys have to say.......

Okay thanks.

I know I am getting old but that was really weird.

Incidentally that post I was talking about now shows 1000 instead of 0904.

tail wheel,

There is something very strange going on all right.

I know it is not your doing by what you said before, but I now wonder if a Mod or Mods are doing it by somehow delaying the posting of replies.

That topic that was showing the last posting as 0904 then 1000, now has 3 NEWER postings on it, but when you look at them they were actually dated yesterday.

No one is delaying posts. It is not possible (I don't think?). Even if a post from a new user is queued to a Mod for approval and approved some hours later, it is still posted with the original sate/time stamp. Even if posts are not yet approved or even deleted, Mods can still "see" the posts and threads.

I captured one example as snap shots:

And posted that example in our Mod's Forum - both times refer to the same post. I can't do anything until the experts on the other side of the world get out of bed and have a look under the hood.

Seems it is other threads too, I just went to see the latest posting on that D,G+P Jet Blast thread, shows as a NEW posting at 1406 today, when you look at the thread it was posted last night at 1906.

It must be those POMEs at PPRuNe Towers, trying to upset us before the start of The Ashes.

Sorry about that you lovely English Gentlemen.

Just checking again the time differences etc on the threads, IF the problem is anywhere it seems to be with the Yanks.

YES, just doing a bit more research, its those *&^%$#@ Yanks.

Current Time in El Segundo is
23:18

Time matches exactly with the time at the new PPRuNe owners HQ.

You leave Grumpy alone.
Q. Do you wake up Grumpy in the morning?
A. No - I let him sleep!

With these time changes, I thought I was getting Dopey , but now I am getting Happy.
As long as you're not "feeling" Happy....

Please do NOT call our Moderator Grumpy.

Looks like he is still in bed, so he must be ''Sleepy''.......
