Post Times???

Only a minor thing, NOT a complaint, just it seems very odd and I cannot see why it happens?

Even allowing for IF the Forums assume everyone has played with their clocks (yes CLOCKS) DST, it is still weird.

The times of posts are often completely wrong, this happens a lot lately, for example one of mine says I posted it last night hours after I was safely tucked up in bed, and one from another Member on a different thread says he posted it this morning, but I KNOW it was there yesterday afternoon.

YES nothing serious, and NO I have nothing better to do ;) just curious.

airsupport 21st Oct 2010 23:16

This is just weird, unless someone has a simple answer that I am missing?

The post I mentioned before, if you look ON the thread it says it was posted yesterday at 2057, which would be correct. :ok:

However in the list of topics it said this morning that the last post was (sometime early this morning I didn't write it down), and NOW it says the last post, SAME ONE was at 0904 this morning?

PPRuNe's clock has been out of whack with reality for a couple of years now. I don't know if it's the American owners view of the world or to blame the Froggies for Universal Time Co-ordinated.

You are right airsupport, the clock is out of whack:=

I too noticed the time problem very early this morning.

Quite weird this morning when the forum summary was showing posts for today, whilst the last post in those threads had a date/time of yesterday - almost as if the Forum summary was in one time zone and posts in another time zone.

Very annoying for Mods to check todays posts in threads, only to find they were posted and checked yesterday. :ugh:

The wheel fell off the PPRuNe date/time stamp months and months ago and no one seems able to fix it. Something further has fallen apart in the last 24 hours. :ugh:

I'll go over to the Mod House and see what the big boys have to say....... :(

airsupport 22nd Oct 2010 00:31

Okay thanks. :ok:

I know I am getting old but that was really weird.

Incidentally that post I was talking about now shows 1000 instead of 0904. :ugh:

tail wheel 22nd Oct 2010 00:38

I posted in the Mod's Forum but they will all be in bed on the other side of the World at present. May get some resonse later this evening or in the morning.

Incidentally that post I was talking about now shows 1000 instead of 0904.
Time flies when you're having fun! :}

P.S. You are old! :} Me too - and getting grumpy........ :hmm:

You leave Grumpy alone. ;)

With these time changes, I thought I was getting Dopey :{, but now I am getting Happy. :ok:

j3pipercub 22nd Oct 2010 01:55

Can I get Snow White?

SgtBundy 22nd Oct 2010 02:32

Sure, here is ticket number 8.

airsupport 22nd Oct 2010 03:14

tail wheel,

There is something very strange going on all right.

I know it is not your doing by what you said before, but I now wonder if a Mod or Mods are doing it by somehow delaying the posting of replies.

That topic that was showing the last posting as 0904 then 1000, now has 3 NEWER postings on it, but when you look at them they were actually dated yesterday.

No one is delaying posts. It is not possible (I don't think?). Even if a post from a new user is queued to a Mod for approval and approved some hours later, it is still posted with the original sate/time stamp. Even if posts are not yet approved or even deleted, Mods can still "see" the posts and threads.

I captured one example as snap shots:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...adtimedate.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...sttimedate.jpg

And posted that example in our Mod's Forum - both times refer to the same post. I can't do anything until the experts on the other side of the world get out of bed and have a look under the hood.

airsupport 22nd Oct 2010 04:16

Now YOU are scaring me, either you are psychic OR it was obvious, I did not say what thread, but that IS the exact thread and the exact post I was refering to. ;)

NO worries, just interested to know what is going on when you find out. :ok:

airsupport 22nd Oct 2010 04:23

Seems it is other threads too, I just went to see the latest posting on that D,G+P Jet Blast thread, shows as a NEW posting at 1406 today, when you look at the thread it was posted last night at 1906.

tail wheel 22nd Oct 2010 04:28

All posts are now showing with the wrong date/time in the Forum Summary.

airsupport 22nd Oct 2010 04:43

It must be those POMEs at PPRuNe Towers, trying to upset us before the start of The Ashes. ;)

airsupport 22nd Oct 2010 05:08

Sorry about that you lovely English Gentlemen. ;)

Just checking again the time differences etc on the threads, IF the problem is anywhere it seems to be with the Yanks.

airsupport 22nd Oct 2010 06:21

YES, just doing a bit more research, its those *&^%$#@ Yanks. ;)

Current Time in El Segundo is
23:18

Time matches exactly with the time at the new PPRuNe owners HQ. :ok:

airsupport 22nd Oct 2010 21:10

Just curious, did you ever find out what was going on?

Desert Flower 22nd Oct 2010 22:27

You leave Grumpy alone.
Q. Do you wake up Grumpy in the morning?
A. No - I let him sleep! ;)

With these time changes, I thought I was getting Dopey , but now I am getting Happy.
As long as you're not "feeling" Happy....;)

Please do NOT call our Moderator Grumpy.

Looks like he is still in bed, so he must be ''Sleepy''....... ;) :ok:
