"Adventure Flying"

Don't know the full story down there, but up here the scariest 210 flights are the ones with the following scenario. Guess which company in the Top End.

210 IFR, 3am Departure to be in Ybrl/Yrbr by first light(approx 3hrs) Middle of the wet season at night over Arnhem Land (Tiger country) with Flashing cells to the left and right, plus one in the distance far away on your direct track. WITH NO WX RADAR. Oh what joy..

Once the AH was drifting 10 degrees left and right and the A/P didn't want to play. Stuff this, turned around about 25nm out into cloud decending to LSALT and breaking visual about 10nm.
They got another 210 about 9am and wanted me to finish the flight. No Way would bust Duty times and possibly Flight time as well.

PS: Original flight was supposed finish about 13.30 with about 10 stops in between. Glad I'm out. Lots of thing to think of when your alone at night in a single engine over/in crap. GA Sucks. Made more money this year as a Bus driver and home every night?

But on the days when the bus passengers are complete a55holes, do you wish you could be doing that freight run on a cavok night?

Not in a 210 with 1 AH!

Perhaps a Baron or a C310 with some decent avionics. Even better in a Kingair and then better still in something above 5700kg with another Pilot to chew a bit of fat.

C210, NT and night is not a nice combination and we all know about the poor Kiwi out in WA who worked for GAS.

Carrying smelly/drunk black fellas is better on the buses as you can kick them off, but not when you are in the air and they're sitting next to you. Less stress in the NT for driving, if it was down in Melb or Syd probably another story. Still get 6 weeks leave as I work for the Government.
Like the Goblin said NT at night with 1 AH and possibly dodgy maintenance. Enough!
